Tari X Meggy: One Shots

Day Two

 Sofia was the first to wake up on her second day staying with Tari. She looked over there and saw Tari sleeping while cuddling Archibald. Sofia chuckled. Tari couldn't go a day without having ANY interaction with a duck. Sofia went downstairs to start on breakfast. She knew Tari wouldn't mind. She loved Sofia's pancakes and fried eggs. She had JUST finished cooking when Tari woke up to the smell of pancakes. 

Tari: Is that-

As soon as Tari said anything, Sofia walked in with Tari's breakfast. 

Sofia: Good morning sleepyhead! I made you and little Archibald something to eat!

Tari: Good morning Sofia! You didn't have to do this! 

Sofia: Awww it's nothing. Consider this my thanks for letting me stay!

Tari couldn't argue with that. But... wait.... there's something in the pancakes that caught Tari's eye.

Tari: Are these.....CHOCOLATE CHIPS!?

Sofia: Yeeeaaah, you told me that you haven't had any since your mother..... passed a few years ago... so I thought, why not make you some?

Tari got up without a word. She walked over to her friend, and gave her a big hug.

Tari: Thank you Sofia. No one has EVER done anything like this for me before.

And this was true. Meggy always cooked breakfast for Tari. And Tari always loved it. But no one has ever, EVER done what Sofia has done. Sometimes it's okay to have a better relationship with your best friend than your lover. Right? Sofia hugged back, let go, and left so Tari could enjoy old memories. A couple hours later, Tari took Sofia to meet the SMG4 cast. Once they arrived, Saiko was the first to welcome the pair of friends.

Saiko: Konichiwa!

Sofia: Oh! Um, konichiwa!

Tari: Hey Saiko! Where are the others?

Saiko: They're in SMG4's room. There's a Smash Ultimate tournament.

As soon as she said that, Saiko covered her mouth.

Tari: SMASH TOURNAMENT?! WITHOUT ME?!

Everyone could hear Tari outside. Mario looked at SMG4.

Mario: Looks like you're....fucked.

SMG4: SCATTER PEOPLE, SCATTER!!!!

Everyone ran out of the castle and in different directions.

Sofia: Well, I guess we can meet another time?

Tari: Ya know what? Let's uhhh, let's go back home.

Back home, the friends were watching the last episode of Meta Runner. They had just finished it when bedtime struck. 

Tari: Well, that was sad. It was even sadder when I experienced it.

Sofia was still crying. She was thinking of Lucinia. 

Tari: Come on Sofia. Let's go to bed. 

Tari held her crying friend's hand and led her to her bed. Tari gave Sofia a good night hug before changing into pajamas and laying down. Then, Sofia said something Tari wasn't ready for.

Sofia: I love you Tari.

Tari looked up. She processed what her friend had said. It took her a sec though. But, she had to return the kind words.

Tari: I love you too Sofia.

Tari could she that Sofia smiled in the dark. As Tari headed to sleep, she was sure Sofia meant as a friend. As for herself, she wasn't sure.
