Tari X Meggy: One Shots

Squid Sisters: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, GO!

Everyone broke off into a run. Three different teams in one Turf War arena. This'll be fun. Anyway, everyone was running and splatting.

Meggy: Tari! Keep covering ground! Mario and Luigi! You guys focus on getting out the other teams! And be careful! We only got three lives this time!

Tari: Got it!

Mario: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Mario began chasing an Inking Girl on Woomy Warriors. 

Tari: Mario! Don't just focus on one opponent! Splat at people, but also cover ground!

Meggy was surprised that Tari knew so much. Well, she is a gamer. They went separate ways. Every distanced themselves from each other covering as much ground as they could. Everything was going fine until Mario got splat for the third time.

Mario: Mamaf*cker!

Callie: Oh, looks like a member on Splatsquad got eliminated! 

Meggy: Come on Red. Seriously?

Everyone kept running and covering everything they could. Meggy managed to get 2 members from Woomy Warriors eliminated in the small time they got. Luigi and Tari got one opponent each off of Killer Ink. So Splatsquad had three, Killer Ink had two, and so did Woomy Warriors.

Meggy: Tari! Can you take care of Killer Ink?

Tari: Maybe! I gotta get in closer!

Meggy: Luigi! How many times were you splatted?

Luigi: Ummm....two.

Meggy: Shit! How about you Tari?

Tari: Same as him!

Meggy herself got splatted two times as well. They had to play the safest way possible. And there weren't many ways to play safe in this scenario. 

Meggy: Screw it! Just take out Woomy Warriors! Leave Killer Ink to me! They're less likely to kill you. And don't stop covering as much territory as you can!

Luigi: Got it!

Tari: Come on Luigi!

Meggy ran towards the final two members of Killer Ink, running and splatting walls and the ground. Once she got close enough, she aimed right at one of the members head, and fired. She got one!

Marie: Oh! There goes yet another Killer Ink member! One more! It's left up to Martin!

Meggy looked at the male Inkling. He looked back. Meggy could see something in the boy's eyes. It was fear and happiness. Wait. Where have Meggy seen this boy before? And why does he look so scared? And happy? And why isn't he shooting her?

Meggy: You DO know you're supposed to shoot, right?

Martin: Um...yeah!

Meggy remembered. From his voice. 

Meggy: You're the kid that gave me flowers after I won the Splatfest last year! And you gave me ramen the year before!

Martin: Yeah, I've always wanted to be like you. To have so much courage. But when I said I wanted to personally meet you, I didn't mean to fight you!

Meggy was in awe. Here was this little boy, refusing to attack her. She was about to say something when Callie over the microphone interrupted. 

Callie: And there goes Woomy Warriors! It's one against three!

Tari and Luigi caught up with Meggy.

Tari: Meggy! What are you doing? We got  rid of them! 

Luigi: Eliminate him! We can make it to the finals! We'll leave the final one to you!

Meggy looked at Martin. She then looked at the crowd. They were cheering for the team. She looked at her friends in the bleachers. They were cheering as well. 

Martin: It's okay. Take the win.

Meggy looked around. She did something she didn't even expect herself to do. She dropped her weapon. As soon as it hit the ground, the crowd went silent.

Tari: Meggy? What are you doing?

Callie: What's going on? Why aren't they eliminating him?

Luigi: Meggy. We worked hard to get here. 

Meggy: You guys don't understand. This boy has been supporting me for years. Whether I won the Splatfest or not. So I think that he should take the win. And since we eliminated him team, we'll help him. Well, one of us won't. 

Luigi: If you feel that way, then so be it.

Luigi started to walk away. He then turned and shot Martin. 

Meggy: LUIGI!

Squid Sisters: WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!! TEAM SPLATSQUAD!!!!!

Everyone in the bleachers erupted into a cheer. Since Martin was an Inkling, he spawned with the rest of his team. They all walked off. Same with Woomy Warriors.

Luigi: Sorry Meggy. But we didn't just bust our asses just to lose because you have a change of heart. I'm done working hard just to get nothing done. I dealt with that in Mario games. I'm not gonna deal with it here. He then walked off without his trophy. They normally hand it to whoever got the last elimination, but Luigi left. Mario walked in the arena meeting up with his friends. 

Mario: Well that was a loada shit.

The Squid Sisters handed Tari the trophy.

Callie: Great job! Hopefully we'll see you in the finals!

Tari: You bet!

A couple hours later, everyone was home. Luigi was silent the whole trip. Meggy felt uneasy about him. She wondered what was going on with him as she went to sleep. But she didn't worry too much about it. After all, she still had Tari.

Tari: Goodnight sweetie.

Meggy: G'night Tar.
