The time was 11:20 P.M., two hours and all the animals were asleep. It seems it was gonna be a peaceful night...but no...the night had wrong.

"Come on now, baby. Oh, don't worry baby girl, I got you." Alex was talking in his sleep when he was laying under the heat. "I like it when you're with me, my sweetheart. Tessa, keep them open for me please. That's my girl." As he was talking in his sleep and begins to suck his thumb, Melman's head had suddenly popped out of nowhere, looking very nervous. "Alex? Alex. Alex!" The third time he whispered, the lion snapped awake and pulled his thumb out of his mouth with a 'pop!' then turned his attention to the giraffe.

"What?" he asked, tiredly. Melman looked him with a weird look on his face. "You suck your thumb?" he asked. Alex quickly took his away and looked at Melman with a sigh, a bit grumpy that his dream was disturbed. "What is it, Melman?" he asked, with a grumpy tone. The male giraffe immediately went back to his question. "Okay, okay." He sighed and then explained, "You know about the blood infection, and I have to get up every two hours? Well I got up to pee, and I looked over in Marty's pen, which I usually don't do..." Alex was getting very agitated, dreading to go back to sleep. He didn't notice Melman's eyes widen over to the okapi den before he adverted back to him. When he was not getting to the point, he finally asked, "What Melman, what's going on?"

"It's Marty and the okapis. They're gone!"

"Gone?" Alex suddenly hit his head and looked at Melman, confused and shocked. "What do you mean 'gone'?" He turned to the corner of his eye, to find the doors of the okapi den wide open. He quickly scattered to his feet and ran to the little den. He peeked inside and to his shock and horror, all four okapis were gone. The cushions were moved to the floor, making him believe they were dragged out of their den.

Melman was already in Marty's pen, looking at the hole the penguins made earlier today. "How long has he been working on this?" He had mouth shoved into the hole as he shouted Marty's name. "Marty! Saber!"

"How would Marty or any of the okapis ever fit in a hole that small?" Cassidy asked, as she and her friends jumped the zebra's empty pen to see what's happened. "Neither of them would even fit down there!" Ryan exclaimed, helping Gloria get into the pen without destroying the wall. Everyone seemed worried and yet mellowed. Alex, on the other hand, was freaking out in panic. He was searching Marty's hay bed, calling the zebra's name and his okapis' names. "This doesn't make any sense." Gloria stated, in confusion. "Where would they go?" The male big cat stood up in panic, when realization settled in his mind and his heart sank to his stomach. He imagined of how frightened they would be without him by their side.

"Connecticut!" He shouted in fear. "And he must have taken my partners with him, against their will!" Everyone was shocked to the core. Of course, Alex has been with the okapis since they first arrived to the zoo. Without him, they would be scared to the bone. "That means, they're on their way to Grand Central to take the train about now!" Tessa explained, in fear. The other animals were now in panic, imagining how things are to go down if this plan continues. "He wouldn't." Gloria said, shockingly. "This is bad." Cassidy squeaked, her ears flopping down. Melman pulled his head away from the hole and looked at the others in sheer panic. "Oh no! What are we gonna do?! We gotta, we gotta, we gotta call somebody!" He shrieked. Alex gasps softly before he turned to the phone booth then grabbed the phone and dialed 911.

The other animals watched in shock, as Tessa hurried over to the lion with redness covering her cheeks. But she just ignored it, and watched how the male lion was talking on the phone. Unfortunately, the people on the other line could only hear roars. Alex quickly stopped and said, "Wait a second. We can't call the people!" He hung up the phone, then quickly ripped the booth off of it's base and then threw it. Tessa could see the sheer panic in Alex's blue eyes. He was clearly worried of his partners' safety. "They'll be really mad! They'll get Marty and the Okapis transferred for good!" he stated, frantically. "You don't bite the hand that feeds you!" "Mhm, I know that's right." Gloria agreed.
