I step though the brick wall into Diagon Ally, and all I can think is wow.
It's been a week since our Hogwarts letters came and we're finally here, Diagon Ally.
Maybe it's all the colorful stores, or the swarms of people, lost in their own little worlds, or in some odd way the noise, but something about the street makes me feel alive.
"Woah." James breaths from beside me.
I can tell he has the same amazement about the street as I do.
"Come along kids, we have a lot of hinges to buy and just one day to do it." My mother heaves shoving past me and James and into the street, followed quickly by Molly.
Molly's starting her 7th year, and the twins, their 3rd.
"You better get use to that, she's even more motherly when Mum isn't around." Gideon hisses in my ear.
"You know, like at Hogwarts." Fabian finishes.
"I see." I say in a mock-wise voice.
"Come on!" James says pulling me forward.
"Here." Mum says handing me a letter pouch. "This is your money. I trust you and James to go on by yourselves, and to ONLY buy the essential supplies, understand? And, wait to buy your wand, got it?"
I nod furiously, I'm practically jumping to go out and explore with James.
"Same goes for you James." Mrs. Potter says, handing James a similar leather pouch.
"Don't worry Mum!" He calls grabbing my wrist tight and pulling me into the street.
As soon as we're out out of earshot he pulls me over and whips out his supply list. After scanning it thoroughly, he says,
"I think we should get our cauldrons and potion supplies first, that way we can carry the rest of the supplies in it." He decides.
"Alright." I say and we walk across the street into a caldron shop. We quickly are able to find the required cauldrons and each buy one.
In the next hour we've already bought most of our supplies.
"All we need are robes, books, and our wands." I conclude.
"Oh if that's all." I whirl around to face Fabian and Gideon standing there, staring at us.
"Yeah," I say, showing them our list.
"You're forgetting about the most important supply." Gideon says.
"And what's that?" James asks.
The twins exchange a grin.
"Pranking supplies."
