We exit the train and unto the platform.
"Firs' years this way!" I voice calls.
I know that voice too.
I turn around and see Hagrid standing there, holding a lantern high in the air.
"Hagrid!" I cry hurrying, well, as fast as I could in my weak state, over to him.
"Aria! Good to see ya." He calls back.
Leading James and the other boys towards him, I say,
"Guys this is Hagrid."
"Woah." James breathes.
Hagrid laughs.
"Right this is way!" He calls, and we follow him down a path.
At the bottom of the path, lies an incredible reflective lake. Above the lake, the almost full moon shimmers, and suddenly I feel light headed.
James must have noticed because when Hagrid tells us to climb aboard the boats, he helps me in.
I sit down across from him, and Sirius and Remus sit down too. Poor peter had to go sit with some other kids, but he assured us he'd be fine.
The boats slide across the water effortlessly, around a corner and into the main part of the lake, and we get our first view of Hogwarts.
It's magnificent. The most beautiful castle iv ever seen, well, the only castle, but still.
The boats slide through a wall of ivy, and into a small chamber.
We exit the boats and reunite with Peter before Hagrid leads us up a set of stone stairs to meet a tall woman.
She's not too old, but gives off a sense of authority. Her black hair tied up in a bit on the top of her head.
She talks quietly to Hagrid for a moment, before he disappears into the big double doors behind her.
"My name is Professor McGonagle, deputy headmistress here, and welcome to Hogwarts." She says.
"Here at Hogwarts you will be assigned a house, that house will be your family while you attend school here. Your good deeds will earn you house points, while any rule breaking will subtract from your house is total. At the end of the year the house with the most points wins. Please note 1st years are not allowed to play Quidditch, now on to the houses. Do you have four houses here at Hogwarts Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Now, let me see what I have to work with this year."
She begins walking among the group of us muttering small sentences to a person or two before moving on. Then she gets to me.
She talks in a voice so soft that only I could possibly hear it.
" A few of your core teachers do know your situation. If you are feeling all right we will continue tonight as regular."
I feel stunned, I knew teachers would have to know what my situation was but I somehow didn't expect this.
"I'm feeling fine." I say in an equally soft voice.
She nods and finishes her round.
"You all seem manageable, now, let the sorting begin."
