I can't think straight.
My heart is pounding in my ears.
I don't know what to think.
"Aria? Aria! Aria please respond!"
Who was that?
Did they matter?
No.
Not when my best friend in the world and my own brothers won't even talk to me.
Everything is blurry.
Someone grabs my arm, and pulls me up.
Im standing, but I don't understand how.
My knees buckle and I fall into someone.
Everything starts to clear, and I can see the person I fell into.
Severus.
I can feel hot tears stinging on my face.
I take a deep breath as he stares at me uneasily.
I find my voice.
"Let's go back to the common room." I choke out.
"Alright." He says.
The two of us but our farewells to Emmy and the other elves, before leaving the kitchens in the direction we think is the way back to the common room.
Trying to find out way through the castle, I realize I should have payed closer attention to where we were going with Narcissa.
We stumble through the dark corridors brainlessly.
"This must have been her plan." Sev mutters. "To bring us out of the common room, only to make sure we get lost."
"I'm sure that wasn't her plan." I say, but at this point, I'm not sure.
"What is this I see? Little firsties in the corridors?"
We whirl around.
An odd little man is floating there, about a foot off the ground.
My brothers have warned me about him. He's a poltergeist, the naughtiest, most misbehaving being in the entire castle. But that doesn't mean he's going to help students commit their acts of misbehavior.
"Peeves?"
"That's my name! You know what else is a new? Apollyon Pringle! And his little trainee Filchie!"
"Shut it!" I snap, and for some reason I can't explain, he does.
