Kabanata X
Two days. Then by that time, I won't be having a hard time avoiding Alex. Right, I'll do what Dad said so that I won't be useless.
Everytime he talks to me, I gave him a short retort.
I went downstairs to get a glass of bottle. I managed to stop throwing the water to him. I went to the sink and placed the glass there.
"Problema mo?!"
"Paumanhin, Reina. Hindi ko nais na mabigla ka."
"But you startled me. Ano bang kailangan mo?" I got a tissue and wiped my mouth.
"Iniiwasan mo ba ako?" Nasamid ako.
Shit, I didn't expect that. Akala ko hindi niya pinansin.
Alex got me a glass of water. Agad ko naman iyong inabot at ininom.
"Dahan-dahan lang. Baka masamid ka ulit." He said as I drink the water he gave me. My cheeks felt hot of what he said. Iba na naman ang pagkakaintindi ko.
Geez, Reina. What's wrong with you? Nagiging madumi ang isip.
I mentally shook my head. I put it in the sink.
"Iniiwasan mo nga ako?" Tanong niya. Kaagad akong umiling.
"No! Ah, marami kasi akong ginagawa kaya mukhang naiiwasan kita. You know, I'm kinda busy." Napatango siya sa sinabi ko.
"Ah, akala ko talaga iniiwasan mo ako. Sige, baka naaabala kita. Gawin mo na ang kailangan mong gawin." He slightly bowed his head and went to the living room.
I suddenly felt a little guilty because I'm avoiding him. But hey, Trix said I'll just take care of him, not entertain him.
Huminga ako ng maluwag at bumalik sa kwarto. I stayed up in my room all day to let Alex know that I'm really busy. Alex was watching TV when I passed to the kitchen. I also searched through the internet how to cook it. Siguro inabot ako ng isang oras. I fixed the table and called for Alex.
"Uh... Nagluto ako ng bago. I don't know if it tastes right." He looked at the dish.
"Ano ito, Reina?"
"Kaldereta." I confidently said. First time ko lang magluto ng ganito, tinikman ko na rin kanina at masarap para sa akin. Ewan ko lang kay Alex. His forehead creased.
"Talaga? Kaldereta? Bakit iba ang kulay?" Napawi ang ngiti ko sa sinabi niya. Hinainan ko siya ng rice at Kaldereta.
Nakaka-bwiset ha. Can't he just appreciate that I cooked it for him even though I don't really know how to cook. I even used the internet to know how to cook it. Tapos ganyan lang ang isasagot niya? Ahuh, no way.
"You don't just a food by its appearance. Tikman mo." He pursed his lips and taste the dish. I smirked when he nodded. He smiled at me.
"Pwede na. Salamat, Reina." Sabi niya at nagpatuloy na kumain.
