" My name is Ibti. I'm 21 and I am an East African practicing Muslim. Other than reading and writing I also love to bake in my spare time. This poem describes my journey. My never ending journey that seems to be on a continuous cycle. The more distant I am from Allah, the further back I am in my journey, until I find myself at the start again trying to find my way back to YOU."

I'm paralyzed
I feel trapped in this body that has a mind of its own

I'm helpless
Searching for answers to questions that are unknown

I'm hungry
Craving to find meaning, to find a sense of direction

I'm lonely
I desire to be loved, to be shown some affection

I'm curious
Is this all there is to life, or is there something more

I'm certain
I've found my purpose, now it's time to explore
