Two months had passed, and Aurora had so much trouble dealing with Becky. She had no motivation to do anything; everything was a joke to her and worst of all, she had all the guy's attention, which wouldn't be a problem, but because of this HR was sending in complaints about it. "I can't believe this; I'm dealing with a demon in my workplace," Aurora said through the phone to Victoria. "Listen, Aurora, it's been two months; she'll be out of your hands once it's over," she said on the other line. "You're right, but I can't resist taking a pen and shoving it right up her ass just to get her brain out there."
"Aurora, why are you so stressed out? It's not like she will take your place as Mr. Han's secretary." "She might," Aurora whispered as she played with the pen on her desk, those thoughts never did leave her mind of being fired. Becky being there just made them worse. "Look, Aurora, if she is bothering you, tell your sexy boss, and he'll do something about it." Aurora sighed, "Anyway, I got to go. I have some paperwork to sort out." Aurora opened up her laptop files to sort out junk that needed to be deleted and emails that needed to be sent out.
"Alright, I'll call you later. I love you." "I love you too, bye." Aurora put down the phone moving forward to her desk "Was that your boyfriend?" Aurora heard a high-pitched voice speak. Becky. "No, it's my best friend," Aurora said as she looked up at her. "Ew, I hate them." Aurora couldn't take the absolute nonsense Becky would say sometimes "What do you want, Becky?". She smirked walking towards the door. "Mr. Han is calling you." She had such a devilish smile that it made Aurora nervous. Aurora followed her to Mr. Han's office, where he stood behind his desk. This was serious. "You called sir?" Aurora said as she walked in, "Yes, Bright Port has come back to receive the report of Becky's progress here at Glam and she is well to go back and start as an official secretary for Mr. Addison." Aurora couldn't hide the smile that crept up on her lips, making her dimples very visible. "She won't be here with us, but she will be popping in and out from time to time for a big investment I'm planning in our company."
"I hope Miss Solace prepared you for this big job you'll be taking on, and considering the amazing progress report she wrote you are more than ready for this," he said looking at her, placing his hand on her shoulder. "She did; I must say she's a professional." Aurora was stunned at what she said; it wasn't exactly the truth as they barely spoke to each other, but Aurora was glad that she had something nice to say about her; she was so good at acting. "Really?" he said, "Well, I guess I shouldn't be that surprised; I hired Aurora knowing the potential she has," he said looking at Aurora, she couldn't help the blush that brushed her cheek a light pink hue. "Just doing my job," Aurora smiled feeling all that worry she had about losing her job fall right off her shoulders. It was late at night, and since Becky left earlier, Aurora could focus on her work and prepare for tomorrow's planned schedule for Mr. Han. Aurora missed a ton of work that had to be done and called back many people she had to put on hold. Mr. Han was still in his office. Aurora figured she'd be there as well, so she wouldn't be alone in the building.
Aurora yawned rubbing her tired eyes before she began typing again, sending emails back and forth and reading them all. "Miss Solace, you're still here?" "Yes, Mr. Han, I had unfinished work, and I couldn't go home without finishing it. Becky kept me from doing it." "How so?" he said. Aurora had to bite her tongue and lie, it would be wrong of her to say that she wasn't doing her job. The sooner she left the better. "No, I just didn't want her to be unprepared, and so many of our staff were willing to help her, especially the men. I thought that I'd make tasks for her to file and task management to practice as well as keep up with my work." At this point, Mr. Han was staring at her intently. All Aurora could do was stare and talk back feeling lost in this conversation.
"You do realize I knew how she acted and how uncomfortable she made me; I knew she didn't care and lied but, from her saying you did an amazing job and I bet you a hundred bucks, she at least slept with five of my staff," they laughed as he sat on her desk. "She probably did; they were like ants marching after her like they do one another." "You watch ants?" "Animal Planet." Another laugh escaped their mouths as she felt good about her work. Aurora missed their alone time like this; being his assistant meant she had to help with everything, even keeping him company sometimes. "I did not write her a progress report; you didn't tell me I had to?" "I did that because. I knew you wouldn't lie about her so I had to and I would do anything to make her go back. I think some of my staff need to do an STD test" Aurora busted into a laughing fit unable to control her outrageous laugh, feeling embarrassed she looked away from him and back to her work.
"How much work do you still have?" He asked, looking at her laptop screen, "Just this one email." She said, typing, "Why?" "Let me take you home." 'Well, isn't that nice?' Aurora thought "But my car, will it be safe here?" "I'll take it into lockdown." Aurora was surprised. "Anyway, I need to ask a favor." Aurora finished up the last of her work before packing her bag "What is it?" Aurora looked up at him; he looked a little tense. "I have this big company deal that will put our company name on the top for sure; as much as we are famous enough, it wouldn't hurt." "I get it, so what's the favor?" Aurora asked curiously; as they walked into the elevator taking them to the parking "It's a three-day trip, there's a grand premiere event that needs to take place; that I was invited to, and I didn't want to go alone, so I was wondering if you would like to accompany me on this job as my assistant."
Aurora thought about it for a second, it sounded like he was taking her on a mini holiday, but from the way he was phrasing it, it sounded a lot like more work "Of course, I'd love to go," Aurora said with a bright smile. "Great," "Does that mean we will be working?" "Not necessarily, we need to be there and show up and I don't exactly have a date" "You're single?" "Yes Miss Solace I am, are you?" Aurora smiled to herself thinking if she should shut him down for an imaginary boyfriend "Nope" The elevator came to a hold opening the doors to reveal an empty car park with barely any cars.
Aurora followed him looking back and forth at which car was his and it wasn't a surprise to see that it was the most expensive one there, "This is Eric Goldberg my assistant and chauffeur out of work" "Yes we have met before, nice to see you again Eric" he smiled sweetly at Aurora opening the door for her to get in "The pleasure is mine ". Gentleman. Mr. Han sat beside her as Eric got in the car and drove giving him her address. The car ride was quiet as they listened to the radio station, exchanging a few glances here and there at each other "Well, here we are," he said as he stopped the car outside her apartment. "Thanks for taking me home; I appreciate the care and warmth." "Anytime," he said, Aurora smiled at him before moving her hands down to unbuckle herself as if she didn't she was stupid enough the buckle was jammed making it difficult for her to open. Mr. Han saw the painful sight of her struggling and leaned forward to help her, Aurora couldn't help it feel her heart beat faster as we was basically up against her, she had to hold her breathe or else he would worry why she was so flustered that pink hue dusted her cheek's once gain. "There" "Thank you" Aurora got out smiling at him not knowing what to do next "Goodnight, Miss Solace," "Goodnight, Mr. Han," Aurora said, walking into her apartment waving bye, Mr. Han stayed outside before watching her get in her apartment safe and drove away.
