Friday had finally rolled around and the Gryffindors were in the last class of the day, Charms. The October chill had just set in and the leaves had changed color as if overnight. No one could focus on their classes between the weather and the anticipation of the next Quidditch match on Saturday. Everyone got put into groups to practice for the day.
Lucky me. Lily groaned inwardly as she got placed in a group with James and perky Emily. Marlene got in a group with Remus and Sirius.
"Are you coming to the game tomorrow?" James asked and looked over at Lily after making his mouse bald.
"I'm going to the game tomorrow! I'm so excited I hope you guys crush Slytherin!" Emily smiled as she leaned closer to James who smiled politely.
"Evans?" James asked again.
"Yeah I'm planning on it," Lily smiled after her mouse tried to escape.
"James you're like the best chaser in the whole school," Emily started again and moved closer to him. As she entrapped him in conversation Lily sighed and leaned back.
"Hey Lily," Neil was in the group behind Lily's and was also being exiled from two members.
"Hi Neil," Lily smiled and faced him. Neil was also a Ravenclaw in 6th year. He had bright blue eyes and dark curly hair. They made small talk for a while until it was time to leave. Neil and Lily said goodbye and it looked like James was trying to shake off Emily as they left the classroom.

The next morning all of Hogwarts had a buzz. Everyone wanted Slytherin to lose their winning streak. Lily pulled on jeans and a sweater before waking up Marlene who had a piece of hair stuck in drool across her cheek. She grumpily got out of bed and also put on a sweater.
"Let's go," Lily rushed her. "I want to get good seats."
"So you can watch your boyfriend?" Marlene grumbled and Lily rolled her eyes. "What about breakfast?" Marlene asked looking at the great hall as Lily pulled her past.
"Maybe if you would wake up before 10:30 then we could've grabbed food," Lily said and the two joined the crowd headed down to the pitch. They found a spot next to Sirius, Remus, and Peter. Marlene sat next to Sirius and Lily sat next to Remus.
"Is this seat taken?" A familiar voice startled Lily and she saw Neil standing next to her.
"No go ahead," Lily moved over.
The game was fairly uneventful. No big scares someone was about to get hurt, and Gryffindor held the quaffle almost the entire games. Gryffindor won by a landslide. Lily danced with Sirius and Marlene in the stands as the snitch was caught and turned to Neil who gave her a big hug. Lily pulled away a little awkwardly but was spared as Marlene grabbed her and pulled her down to the field.
"Talk later?" Neil called after the girls and Lily ignored him. Once they reached the field, James fought his way through the crowd over to his friends and hugged them all laughing.
"Alright there Potter?" Lily asked laughing as he hugged her last.
"Never better," he grinned and ran his hand through his hair which was very moist. "I'll see you at the party, yeah?" James asked and Lily nodded.
As the rest of the Gryffindors went to start the party, Lily waited halfway between the castle and the changing tent so she could wait for James.
Someone else obviously had the same idea as when James came out, Emily appeared out of no where and ran up to him. They talked for a minute or two and then she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him.
Lily felt her heart sinking as she turned back to the castle to go join the party.
