Anne stumbled home feeling less confused then she had been feeling a couple hours prior.
She trudged through the muddy woodland path and beyond the trees she could just make out the suns rays lowering deep beneath the layers of clouds that would eventually consume Canada into a pit of darkness.Gilbert would not leave her mind. No matter how much she attempted to drift of in a day dream or no matter how many times she attempted to thing of some thing that needs to be done, Gilbert was always there with his stupid good looks and charming smile.
"Ughhhh." She groaned loudly into the deadly quiet forest. Why were boys so confusing?
"It doesn't make sense at all!!" she screamed into the seemingly endless towering trees that surrounded her.
All of a sudden she heard a deep chuckled echo out from next to her. Her beady blue eyes scanned the tree until they landed on a crouched figure of a young man, picking some flowers.
"May i enquire who is there?" Anne asked hesitantly. She felt awful embarrassed that she was caught in such a presumptuous state and at the edge of the night.
"Im sorry i didn't mean to frighten you!" His light warm voice floated soothingly towards her as the young man emerged from the shadows.
The first thing Anne noticed about him were his bright green eyes, they gleamed brightly admits the shadowy landscape. His hair was golden brown and light ruffled curls staggered messily atop one another. His lips were etched into a shy but intrigued grin. She also noticed he was wearing quite a formal suit but the top button was undone and his blazer jacket was slung carefully over his bent arm, whilst his other hand held a bunch of flowers.
"i was just about to head back home to my mothers house, i wanted to bring her a small gift." he gestured to the small arrange of flowers he had collected.
Anne spied a large pink tulip amongst, she smiled at it.
"well you've got a good bunch there!" she laughed lightly. She could feel his burning gaze on her cheek, it was an all too familiar one."Oh, i'm sorry, i haven't introduced myself!" He babbled as he walked towards her with his spare hand out in greeting.
"My name is Royal Gardener, but most people call me Roy."
"My name is Anne Shirley-Cuthbert, but people just call me Anne- and it's Anne with an e."
He grinned widely as she chatted on about the origin of her name, he felt like her every word consumed him."Well Anne, with an e, it's been a pleasure meeting you this fine evening!" He bowed in her direction.
"You too Roy." She smiled and began to walk away towards Green Gables."Wait!" Roys voice echoed from not far behind her, Anne turned around to see him jogging up towards her.
"I live near charlotte town and i was wondering when i next come to pass Avonlea, would you do me the honour of having tea?" Anne could see he was nervous to ask but she embraced the opportunity.
"Yes i would be honoured Mr Gardener, i live just up the road at Green Gables." She smiled warmly at him, as he nodded enthusiastically.
"Would you like a ride m'lady? i am heading that way home." He offered politely, Annes heart felt like it was pounding ten times faster.
She had never met someone so romantically chivalrous before.
She clambered into his carriage, their bodies squished together. Soon they were off.
Anne and Roy chatted about their lives and what it was like. Anne learned that Roy was nearly 19 and that he loves writing stories and playing sports. Anne felt there was something so fascinating about Roy and luckily the feeling was mutual.
Soon they arrived at Green Gables.
"Thank you so much for this splendid evening Miss Shirley-Cuthbert." He said as he helped her down from the cart.
"It's I who must be thanking you, Roy." Anne giggled as she noticed how close together they were. Both their cheeks flushed lightly.

As Anne walked up the path to Green Gables House she smiled up at the moon that glistened in the sky. She was thankful she met Roy on that walk home, he seemed like such a pleasant person.Suddenly realisation dawned upon her.
What about Gilbert?
