I'll Save You

Horror

Everyone is dead.

And it's because of me.

The once strong guild is now non existent.  Where it once was, was now just a pile of useless ruble. And, oh god, why was everything red? My hands were red, my clothes were red, my hair was red, and even the fucking sky was red. I looked around at all the different bodies. None of them were breathing, none of them were alive. I wanted to scream, but I couldn't, I was to exhausted and out of breath. God, I was so, so tired. I wish they would've killed me, too.  I had long ago ran of tears, and besides, I think I'm to dehydrated to form any. We had won, but it came at a great price.

Wendy was a few feet away from me. She was one of the last people to have survived. Over the past month of survival, we became like sisters, so her death was excruciating for me. It felt like someone ripped my heart out, stabbed it, and then put it back in my chest and expected it to work again. Wendy had a big red X over her stomach. Next to her, you could see some of her intestines that had spilled out. The worst part, was that they didn't kill her fast. No, they held her down and slowly cut into her. Laughing at her screams as they watched as she slowly died.

Erza was the first out of many to die. She distracted them so we had the chance to run away. She didn't last long, though. Her arms and legs were cut off, and she was left to bleed out. Jellal -who was with us at the time- tried to save her. That only resulted in his head getting head cut off.

Gildarts and Makarov were the next ones to dies. They turned Gildart's magic against him, and cut him into pieces. Makarov had miraculously killed a few. Then the enemy used some sort of ancient spell that caused Makarov to kill himself.

So many people were killed. The entire guild. The Strauss siblings, were all caught in an explosion. Happy, was killed as well. His wings were pulled from his back and his ears were cut off. Even after that didn't kill him, they proceeded to strangle him until he passed out, then they smashed his face in to the ground shattering his skull. All of these deaths, and all I could do was watch as they took their last breath.

Natsu... He was laying on my lap with a massive whole in the middle of his chest. His dead, soulless eyes were staring straight through me. "..I-I love you.." his last words still echoed through me like a song. Only it's a song that I don't want to hear. Songs end, and I don't want it to end, not yet.

"Idiot... I never got to say it back. So please, don't die. You promised we'd be together forever, didn't you? So don't leave me!!" I buried my face into the croak of his neck trying to get some of his warmth. Only it wasn't there, Natsu was cold. My entire body shook in pure agony. This was all of my fault. If only I was stronger, if only I could protect myself.

Maybe things would be different.

~Flashback~
Almost two years ago, Yukino died after going on a mission. It was a solo mission that she thought she could handle, something that seemed easy. The mission was to defeat a kidnapper who had been capturing people and torturing them to death. When she met the person who wrote the mission, Yukino was kidnapped, as the person who posted the request was the kidnapper himself. Her dead body was found a week later along side her keys.

Her death was devastating. It took me weeks to accept that not only a friend was gone, but I was the last celestial mage on Earthland. If it wasn't for Natsu who had comforted me, it would have taken me months to accept her death. Sabertooth gave me her keys not long after her death. So now I had all of the twelve golden keys. Yukino had found the newly made Aquarius key and was going to give to me on my birthday. She died two weeks before she ever got the chance.

Now with all of the keys in my position, I had become more powerful, more reliable. After I had learned all of the star dresses, Loke told me that there was a dress for the celestial spirit king. I was so close to learning it, but then my life turned into something that would make hell look like a playground.
