Cookie's POV

Dally followed me into my class with a calm, unimpressed face. I could tell that he didn't want to be at school, but I couldn't tell why he came if that was the case. I shook my head at him as I saw Two-Bit waving his hand like an idiot. I smiled at the goofball and sat in my usual seat next to him. Seeing no open seat around me, I watched as Dally glared at a Soc kid with such ferocity that the kid scrambled from his seat next to me and went up a couple of rows to the farthest empty seat he could find. I tisked at Dally's bullying and turned to Two-Bit.

"Hiya, Two." I said with a smile.

"How youse doin', gorgeous?" Two-Bit said flirtatiously, resting his arm on the back of my chair.

"Ahm awrite. How's 'bout ye?"

"I'm bitchin', beautiful."

I laughed at his compliments, noticing Dally's side glares. He looked like he wanted to kill Two-Bit, but I couldn't understand why. Were they fighting? This has been Two-Bit and I's usual exchange ever since the day after I met him. I find it hilarious. He has definitely become a close friend of mine. He may even be my closest friend out of the entire gang. I turned to Dally and gave him a wide smile, hoping it would lighten up his mood.

"What are you doing?" He said, his eyes darting from my mouth to my eyes.

I frowned and said, "Ah was smiling, ye bahookie."

He settled into his seat and said, "oh. I liked it. Could you do it again?"

"Ye'r aff tae have tae earn it." I said, leaning back into my seat and crossed my arms.

"Come on, darling," he said charmingly, leaning forward and resting his elbows on his knees, "for me."

"Especially not for ye." I hissed. "Ye lost yer smiling privileges."

The teacher stood at the front of the classroom with a stack of papers on her desk and ordered everyone to come up and grab a paper. I looked at Dally and before I could say anything he said, "don't even think about it."

I huffed, and turned to Two-Bit. I looked at him with puppy-dog eyes and batted my long lashes and asked him to grab a paper for me. I knew how to get what I wanted. Always did. What was the use of surrounding myself with cute boys if they weren't willing to do my bidding. Of course they meant more to me than that, but I'd never admit it.

"Only if you smile." He said.

I smiled as sickeningly sweet as I could muster and topped it off with a "please" and a couple more innocent bats of my lashes. Two smiled back and got out of his seat, along with all our other classmates and joined the mob to grab the worksheet. I gave a small smirk before making my face go blank and turning back to Dally.

"What the hell was that?" Dally asked.

"He asked politely. And wasn't a bahookie." I said matter-of-factly.

"Whatever," I heard Dally mutter under his breath. This guy is such a jerk, how was someone as nice as Two-Bit friends with him? This wasn't like the Dally I had met the night of the party, or the next day either. This Dally was fake. There was no genuineness in his eyes like that. No genuine happiness or sadness. This wasn't the Dally I thought I knew.

So, keeping my promise, when the teacher turned away, I made a silly face at him. He looked at me unimpressed before turning away with a small smile. That was all I wanted, to get that smile back on Dallas Winston's face. I felt the heat of accomplishment rise in my chest. I really would do anything to keep that smile on his face. With that thought I took my paper from Two-Bit and began to listen to the lecture to the best of my ability with Dally's snarky, albeit funny, commentary.
