Chapter fourteen.

Meredith's Pov.

I was on Addison's service today-probably because she requested me- she was standing near the attending's lounge talking to Dr. Torres.

"You requested me?" I asked.

"No, Bailey put you on my service" she said.

"Oh, Okay" I said. I wasn't entirely sure if I believed her.

"I'm serious, you can-" she started.

"No need to" I said cutting her off.

"Meredith what happened to your face?" Callie asked. She rubbed her finger along the scar. I yelped and jumped back when she touched it. It had only been two days since it happened.

"I-it's Nothing" I said. She crossed her arms.

"Really so if it was nothing then why are you doing this?" She asked touching the mark again.

"Ok so what, it hurts! Get over it Callie!" I said sternly.

"You should put some ice on that Meredith" Callie responded.

"She needs stitches Callie, look at it" Addison said. "Come with me, I'll get you stitches" Addison said. I rolled my eyes but followed.

"It's done nothing but bleed and re-open! Are you satisfied?" I asked bitterly. She didn't face me, she just continues getting the supplies to stitch my face.

"I didn't realize I had my ring on" she said so quietly I almost didn't hear her.

"Hey, you did this to me" I said.

"Look to the right" she said. She number my cheek so I couldn't feel anything. She quickly sewed up my face and cleaned up the counter.

"Now you're ignoring me?" I asked.

"You have a patient" she said. I walked up to her and looked her in the eyes. I felt my heart sink into my stomach. "What are you staring at?" She asked.

"I-" I paused for a moment.

"You what?" She said.

"For some reason I have the urge to kiss you" I finally said. She straightened up.

"So what is stopping you?" She asked.

"The fact that you are married" I said.

"But Nothing is stopping me" she said. She started to lean forward when the door opened. I quickly stepped back.

"Derek? What are you doing here?" I asked. He looked at me and Addison.

"I was looking for Addison" he said.

"W-What do you need?" She asked, her voice a little shaky.

"I'm going to be at the hospital all night so you will have the hotel to yourself tonight" he said firmly.

"I'm gonna go" I said. She looked over to me. "I have charts to do." I walked past Derek and grabbed charts from the nurses station. Thank god I didn't kiss her.
