Chapter twenty.

Derek's Pov.

The water was colder than I had expected it to be. It was difficult to get to her but I finally did. I swam up to the surface with her in my arms. I walked up to the dock and thankfully someone was there.

"Whoa, what the hell happened to her?" The man asked.

"I don't know, she needs to get to the hospital right away" I yelled. Within seconds there was a gurney by the dock. We strapped her on and started rushing her to the ambulance. I started compressions and told them where to go.

Alex's Pov.

Patients were still piling through the doors of the hospital and the clinic. Addison and I had been in surgery for a few hours on a pregnant Jane doe who was found barley alive on the harbor.

"Karev, more suction" Addison said firmly. She almost seemed worried.

"Are you worried you are going to fuck something up?" I asked. She hesitated before answering me.

"D-Derek hasn't come back yet" she said.

"He will be back I can assure you" I said. A pager started going off rapidly.

"Dr.Karev it's for you" one of the scrub nurses said.

"It can wait" I responded. She looked worried. "What spit it out!"

"You should take this, it's a 911" she finally spoke. I rushed over and looked at the pager. 911 M.Grey. Something had happened to Meredith.

"I um, I have to go" I said. I rushed down the hall to the trauma rooms to find her.

Cristina's Pov.

"She isn't back yet and I haven't told her" I said to Burke. He looked up from the chart.

"Who isn't back?" He replied. I gave him a stern look. "Oh, Meredith isn't back" he finally said.

"She needs to be here Burke, I need to tell her about this" I said sticking up my ring finger. Burke has proposed last night and I hadn't told Meredith yet. She is my person and she needs to know. My pager started buzzing.

"Oh Shit!" I yelled. "It's Meredith! I need to go" I ran out of the room pushing through anyone in my path.

George's Pov.

"I'm just saying Callie is not a good match for you" Izzie said.

"She is my wife, so you need to get over it!" I said. Izzie never liked Callie but all that mattered was that I did.

"Why did you marry her in Vegas?" She asked.

"Because I love her and we wanted to be away from negative people" I said. We were interrupted when our pagers went off in sync.

"No!" She yelled. We both ran as fast as we could. We reached the trauma room where she was. Alex and Cristina were already there

"What happened?" I asked.

"We don't know" Alex said.

"Well are you even sure it is her?" I asked. "Maybe it isn't her!" I said.

"George! It's her" Cristina said. Her face made me realize how serious this is.

"Oh" I started to sob a little. Meredith was dying.
