Alessa's POV
I turned around as someone tackled me into a hug, "Draco!" I laughed as I hugged him back. When we pulled away, I finally could take in his appearance. He was wearing an all black suit tailored to perfection. He had grown much taller, he is now at least a head taller then me, he had also lost a lot of his baby fat, which made him look better if possible. His messy hair grew longer. We stepped back after realizing how close we were, feeling my cheeks grow hot."Mr. Malfoy," I greeted, "Mrs. Malfoy."
"Narcissa please, dear." Narcissa hugged me. Mr. Malfoy gave a small smile and polite nod my way.
"Mr. and Mrs. Avery." Draco shook their hands.
"How are you, Lilith?" Narcissa hugged my mom.
"Oh you know, the usual. Just some ministry business." Mother replied, emphasizing on the word ministry. Narcissa frowned slightly and nodded. Our fathers have already started talking about said 'ministry' business.
"Hey, Draco." I said, fumbling for the ring box. He looked at me with those beautiful grey eyes I could get lost into. "I got something for you from Italy. Wouldn't want to forget tradition would we?" I teased. Me and Draco had this thing where we would give each other presents after our travels and see who gave the best gift. I handed him the velvet box and waited for his reaction.
He grinned widely and opened the box. The gold ring reflected the sun brightly. "Hm, it's," he paused to put it on,"gorgeous." I smiled back, knowing I made the usually grumpy blonde smile.
"But," he stopped, "it's not nearly as good as my gift for you." He smiled cheekily. I was just about to retort when father called us both.
"Remember to hold on tightly and don't let go until I say so." Father instructed. "You may get some nausea."
We held on the statue and father started counting down. Suddenly the whole world started spiralling and I got dizzy.
"Let go!" Father's voice rang. I let go that instant and started to fall. I was about to scream when suddenly fell to the soft ground.
I groaned, not making a move to get up, "What was that?"
"Well that is how a portkey works, Lessa." A voice under me said.
"Draco!" I scrambled up, extending a hand for him. "Are you hurt?"
"I'm okay." He reached for my hand and instead of pulling himself up he pulled me down.
I gasped and then met his grey eyes. He smiled and I let out a soft laugh. I suddenly realized how close we were. I could smell his minty scent. The moment was ruined when I heard someone cough beside us.
"Are you done?" Mr. Malfoy asked. I blushed and stood up, brushing myself off. Our mothers were smiling and giggling to themselves. We started to walk towards the stadium. All around was red and green, it was loud and hectic. There were merchandise sold everywhere. We walked to the tents, where our fathers were talking to Cornelius Fudge, the minister.
Draco pulled my hand and led me to inside one of the tents. "It looked much smaller from the outside." I mumbled admiring the penthouse-like features of the inside. Marble floor, gigantic kitchen, long dining table, and a grand living room. Pureblood worthy.
"Magic, Les." Draco said, flopping into one of the couches. I sat next to him and saw him playing with the ring I gave him.
"I'm glad you like it." I said.
"I do know my jewelry," Draco replied, "goblin-made?"
"Goblin-made." I answered proudly. "Doubt your present could beat mine." I smirked.
