Saturday-June 10th

" Breathe, Hasani just breathe." I said to myself as I stared up at the giant sign NYU LANGONE Tisch Hospital in bold letters

" Hey girl, you new?" I looked over seeing a woman not much older than me smile

" Yes ma'am, today is my first day." I stated giving a nervous smile in return

She was very pretty she was almost a spitting image of Crystal Westbrooks, back at home we would referred her as a redbone. Her cheeks held light freckles and deep dimples, dark brown curly hair sat just above her collar bone.

" Well, that explains why you look like a weirdo." She laughed and I couldn't help but chuckle okay maybe I did look a little weird standing outside staring at the hospital

"I'm just really nervous, oh sorry I'm Hasani-Lei it's nice to meet you-?" I questioned with my hand out for a shake

"I'm Chassidy, it's nice to meet you. I love your name by the way are you mixed with Japanese?" She questioned taking my hand

" Yes, I am ."

"I could tell, you have this rich complexion and your eyes gave it alway also. EXOTIC." She did her hands in a exaggerated exploding motion

" Thanks?" I questioned almost giving a nervous laugh

"Are you ready to stop staring, and get to work?"

"Yea, ready as I'll ever be." She entwined our arms together before walking us through the doors

So far it wasn't bad, everything was a little fast paced but nothing I couldn't handle

Our scrubs were different, which i didn't mind at all, instead of navy blue we wore lavender which complimented ya girl skin tone WELL okay.

"Okay, what we got?" I questioned after I closed the curtain to give the patient more privacy lathering my hands in sanitizer

"I have Liza Pierce in bed two, she was in a accident Dr.Smith is gonna come in and check her out we just need a blood sample, if you wanna do that." Austyn the lead nurse spoke

I nodded heading over to a sterile tray, pushing it over to the curtains I opened them.

"Hi Mrs.Pierce, my name is Hasani, I just have to get your blood drawn really quick." I smiled

"The quicker the better, I do not need my son hopping down my throat." She chuckled and so did I before rolling up her sleeve

" I can't make any promises, but I'll most definitely try to get you out of here soon." I laughed to myself thinking, I watched her from my peripheral as she side eyed me up and down smirking
