It's not often that you get to hang out with your boyfriend, Calum, in public. If it took too long to get coffee at the nearby cafe, he would get noticed and couldn't leave because fans and paps would start conversations. Sitting down at a restaurant almost always ended with a mom coming over and asking him to sign a napkin or something ridiculous.
So today, when you two decided to go on a nice walk, grab a pastry at a local bakery, and do some window shopping, you were prepared for your time out to either be cut short or prolonged by hours. When the first person notices him, its like everyone around you suddenly realizes they're near a celebrity and lose their minds. You stick as close to Cal as possible as girls pull him away for photos or autographs.
"Oh my god, are you Y/N?" One girls with a thick valley girl accent asks. "You are SO much uglier in person, I didn't even think that was possible." She covers her mouth as she giggles, a few other girls joining in.
"Hey, don't talk to Y/N like that," Calum pulls you back to his side. "I would love to stick around but my gorgeous lover and I need to leave," He waves to all of the fans and pulls you out of the group. He fixes his sunglasses over your eyes and shelters you from the group that is now following after.
When you two finally make it to the car, he lets out a long, frustrated sigh. "I'm sorry about what happened," He looks over at you. "I try my best to keep you out of the drama but sometimes it doesn't work," He leans his head back against the seat.
"It's okay, Cal." You assure him. "You do your best and that's all I can ever ask for. Thank you for keeping me safe, my knight in shining armor."
