Chapter 4 - Trust

K but him with glasses🥵🥵 I'm wheezing!🤣

Later on in the day I was just chilling in my room reading, when a small alarm went off. I heard a knock at the door.

"Y/N c'mon it's your first mission with us!" Skye said from the door. I closed my book and jogged to the door. I opened the door and she was standing there giddily.

"Ready?" She asked.
"Hell yeah". I said slightly excited.
But Midas said no missions till later? I thought. I shrugged off the thought. I followed her down to a large meeting room with a table that showed the whole map of Fortnite.

"Woah". I whispered. Skye smirked at me.

"Take a seat ladies". Midas said tapping his fingers while leaning back in his chair. For the first time he was wearing glasses, which made him look even more charming. The 'Cat Man', who I learned was Meowscles, stood up at the end of the table next to Midas and crossed his arms.

"I have just received intel that SHADOW agents ave been plotting to take each of our agents down at a time until they reach HQ.  I want everyone on there posts until further notice. Meowscles, head back to the Yacht. Skye, Shark. Brutus, The Grotto. TNTina, The Rig. And as for me, I will remain he and keep in contact with all of you. Am I understood?" He said.

"Yes sir". They all said together. I sat there patiently waiting to be told what to do. Though I got lost in staring at him that I might have missed it.

"Dismissed". He waved his hands and looked through some paperwork. I looked worriedly at Skye.

"Don't worry. This means you get more time with him". She smiled warmly. I smiled in response.

"Midas?" I asked.

"Yes Y/N?" He looked up.

"So um is there anything you need me to do? Like go with them or go through paperwork?..." I asked almost ramble like.

"You will remain here with me. I will let you go out as you please, but not after 10. SHADOW agents lurk around POI's after hours. I'm not risking you". He said taking off his glasses. A curfew? Wow, I guess he really does care. I stood there with a stupid grin on my face.

"Love, is something wrong?" He asked giving me a smile.

"Nooooo. I just Uh. HEY! Look at the time. I'm uh gonna go take a walk. I won't be long". I said stupidly. He gave me a questioning look.

"Alright Y/N, Don't be too long. Also take this". He said getting up and handing me a little triangle earpiece.

"Keep in contact with me". He didn't let go of my hand.

"I will. Why do you not trust me?" I looked up at him.

"Well, yes I do. But I don't trust anyone else". He explained. I laughed.

"You make so many excuses M". I sighed. I placed the earpiece in and turned it on.

"I'll be back soon". I said heading to the door". I saw him go back to sit in his golden chair at the end of the table. I walked down the hall heading for the large doors leading to the outside world.

"What a wonderful girl". He said.

I made my way through the forest of 'Weeping Woods'. What was left of sunlight gazed through the tree tops. As I found my way further into the woods I heard noises. Not natural ones, the odd squirrel would startle me but I eased. It was getting dark, I knew I should head back. But I was lost. I looked around hoping to recognize something from where I had just came from. Everything looked the same. The trees glared at me as I stood there looking to the star-filled sky. I heard rustling. I thought it was a squirrel until I heard a click of a gun.

"Hello?" I said. Nothing. I looked around quickly.

"Hello?!" I said a little louder. Still nothing. I felt that I had eyes on me. I tried using my coms, but they didn't work. I went into panic mode. I didn't bring a weapon with me, my own mistake. I looked around more seeing if I could spot the creature staring at me.

"Don't be afraid doll, it's only me". I heard Midas' voice. I turned around to see him, he had changed since the last time I saw him. All gold and wearing all black. I ran to him and hugged him.

"You had me worried M. I thought someone was trying to kill me". I sighed in relief.

"It's alright Y/N. I'm here now. Let's get back to Agency before any SHADOW agents find us". He said wrapping his arm around me. I rested my head on his shoulder as we walked back.

"M, why did you change?" I asked still looking ahead of me.

"I didn't want any SHADOW agents to see me". He said.

"And the all gold form?" I said looking up at him.

"Happens when I go into self defense". He said a little bit more sternly. I took note and continued onwards.

We made it back to The Agency when he let go of me.

"Are you coming inside?" I asked walking up the stairs.

"Yes love. I just need to do something downstairs first". He said heading that way. I waved.

"G'night!" I said walking inside.

SHADOW Midas' POV

I watched her walk inside.
Midas is going to be engulfed with rage once he finds out what I have planned for her. I thought to myself.

"Toxin, love. How's it going in there?" I asked from across my coms.

"Perfect. He's sleeping like a baby. He won't remember anything". She said placing the empty bottles of sleep toxins in her holsters.

"Great. Now come along darling. Daddies got something planned for you at home". I grinned.

"I can't wait". She laughed, leaving the sleeping Midas clueless to the horror that was going to happen.

Y/N's POV

I was finished getting ready for bed so I decided to go see Midas before I went to sleep. I walked down to his room and knocked on the door.

"Midas?" I said lowly. I knocked again, scanning myself and opening the door. He had given me access if I needed anything. I opened the door to see him sound asleep, back to his normal skin. I smiled and shut the door, heading to bed.
