I walked out of the hot shower, it was so relaxing but the water felt like bullets against my skin, but that didn't change the fact that it was relaxing. Before I took my shower I managed to find a pair of comfortable grey sweatpants that were littered with small planes and a maroon shirt. Vale was reading through the papers that Devina was previously reading, and Aiden had Dakota on his shoulders, lifting him up so he could touch the ceiling.
Devina hasn't gotten back yet, and we had no form of communication. I would've felt a little better if someone went with her, but she decided that it would be better if she just went by herself, and there's nothing that any of us can do it about it. Thinking of the shower, it would be good if there was something we would put our clothes in.
Looking around, I noticed the bin of clothes that we brought with us. I walked over to it and carried it to the couch, where I sat down and took out the first item in the bin, which was a green t-shirt and laid it across my lap. Vale looked up at me, curious at what I was planning to do. In all honesty, I didn't know what I was doing either.
I stared at the shirt that sprawled across my lap and straightened it out, making sure that it had no wrinkles. Thinking that it would be best to tuck the sleeves in towards the center, and then folding the bottom towards the top, then sideways. I set it aside, proud that it doesn't look too bad. I continued to work my way through the basket until I hit bottom, leaving stacks of clothes on the couch.
"No one touch this, or knock it over, okay?" I instructed, not wanting to have to redo it.
"He's ma'am!" Aiden announced while putting his hand to his forehead like a soldier. Dakota who was now on the floor looked up to him and copied his movements.
Vale and I both cracked a smile at this, and I stood up, taking the now empty bin with me to the bathroom. I collected the clothes and towels that were spread across the tiled floor, then set the basket in the corner. We'll figure out what to do with it at a later time, my main concern was where Devina could be right now.
We may not get along very well all of the time, but she is one of us, the leader, and the oldest. She also has the most knowledge about how to live out here, and that's essential for us. I walked out back into the living room, where I was almost knocked over by Dakota coming at me with a hug.
Looking down at the blonde with a surprised face, I soon returned the hug. "What was that for?" I asked with a small laugh." I asked as we parted from the hug and I gave his hair a small ruffle.
"Aiden told me to!" He looked towards Aiden with a small giggle, "But I would have done it even if he didn't tell me to!"
"Wha-! Dakota, you weren't supposed to tell her that." Aiden laughed. Vale looked up at us from his papers and gave out a small laugh before going back to what he was doing.
"Well, thank you both." I praised with a small eyebrow raise and a smile.
"Yeah," Aiden chuckled while rubbing the back of his neck, "just a small 'thank you' of sorts for cleaning up. I know very well we wouldn't have done it. And don't worry about putting the clothes away, we'll put them in the drawers."
"Thank you, guys I appreciate it." I looked towards Vale, "You too, Vale."
Vale looked up at me with a confused look on his face and his blue eyes awkwardly shifted. "Me? I didn't really do anything..."
"You kept those two in check." I nodded my head towards the other two males, who smirked. Vale awkwardly smiled in response, not knowing what to say. I gave him a slight nod of my head, letting him know that I didn't need a response. "But how long has Devina been gone for? Does anyone know?"
