The sun was just peeking through the trees after the damp, long night had finally come to its end. I slowly wiggled out of the place Clem and I were in but accidentally woke her in my attempts to get out.
"Where are you going?" She sleepily asked as she sat up and covered her cold body with the thick blanket.
"Bathroom. BRB." I signed messily and she nodded as she layed back down and fell back asleep, wrapping herself even tighter in that blanket.
My feet carried my heavy body up the steps and into my room, sloppily throwing whatever I could find into a small backpack, flinging it onto my back, and rushing out the doors of the dorm hall.
I was surprised to see that Aasim was sitting at one of the tables writing this early in the morning.
"Where you going?" He interrogated.
I stayed ignored him and kept walking towards the gate.
"I asked you a question. Answer me Louis." Aasim demanded as he stood up and rushed to follow me.
I held up the middle finger and kept walking with my backpack heaving behind me.
Aasim wouldnt take that for an answer either because he walked over to me with a stupid proud-like strut and grabbed my wrist. My mouth opened as a reaction and I tried to scream "let me go" but it all came out as a blurb.
"I asked you where you are going." he demanded once again as I shook my hand hard in attempts to get him to let me go.
My eyes filled with the familiar salty tears, but I held them back as my free hand reached up towards his face, bawled up, and punched him as hard as I could. One thing led to another, and eventually he was on the ground, and I was sprinting away from the school with the gate flung open and Aasim yelling behind me.
I couldn't stop the rage filled leakage spilling down my cheeks as I ran around trees, over rocks, and dodging the occasional walker or two.
Finally, after a while, my feet grew tired, and I managed down to a slow walk through the now unknown land. The tears kept funneling down my cheeks as I glanced all across the woods, looking for any familiar land, beginning to ease back into a fast run whenever I felt like I had energy to do so.
I finally arrived at an old highway filled with abandoned and old, dusty cars.
I decided to settle down in one for a while, go through my things, and to gather any other useful supplies left in these cars.
I walked to an old, small red car with unlocked doors, climbed in and shut the doors to go through my things.
A comb, an old t-shirt, a few music sheets, one small shoe, a lighter, a pen that ran out of ink, a notebook, the sign language book, a pillowcase, a small but dull knife, a pencil, two socks, and few bullets that didnt have their matching gun.
I grabbed the pen, the shoe, and pillowcase and put them on the passenger seat. That left some room for anything I could scavenge.
I got out of the old car and started to walk around the road, looking in dusty windows and trying to find any useful things that I could take for my now runaway state of being.
There were a few cans of food hiding away in the trunk but that was really it.
After trying my best to find any remnants of still edible food or some kind of shelter, I heard the familiar groans and grunts not so far from where I was standing.
Fucking walkers.
I looked up the road and saw a rather large herd headed for me, most likely a few miles out though. This herd was the biggest I'd seen and even topped the one Clem, Aj, Violet, and I had to deal with at the old train station back when Clem had just arrived at the school.
