kathleen's pov:
i feel my eyes glaze over again, and mascara stained tears start racing down my face. "ey, ey come ere," he says, a recognisable warmth and comfort within his voice. i rest my head on his chest, and i feel better. in that moment, every problem that i had ever had, went away. all that mattered was that he was holding me. time seemed to stop, but not for long enough. "listen, if we want this to work, me n you, we're gonna stick together okay?" he says, softly. he plants a gentle kiss on my head, and the world seems to fade away.

the next morning

van's pov:
'what time is it?' i think to myself. i check my watch, it's 3pm. i can barely remember last night, i've got a banging headache, and i feel sick. but none of that matters, because she's here. i roll over and she's still asleep. she's a real life sleeping beauty. my sleeping beauty. i give her a gentle kiss on the forehead to wake her up. her lips form a smile, even though her eyes are still closed. "what's the time?" she asks, rubbing her eyes.
"it's three o clock love," i reply.
"god, we must've been out late last night," she says, getting herself out of bed. "what am i wearing?" she says, whilst looking herself up and down in the mirror.
"i'll have you know that that's my favourite arctic's top thank you very much," i start. "and besides, i think you look absolutely beautiful in it."
her cheeks blush and she starts smiling at the ground, but this changes. she looks at me confused.
