Chapter 41

Both Jin and Tong felt their heart ache for the child.

Jin came forward and hugged the little boy whose eyes are all red from crying.

"Your grandma has gone to a good place now." Jin said.

Lan didn't say anything and started to cry again.

In the past, when he asked about his parents, his grandma told him the same thing.

Tong also came forward and hugged the little boy. His heart ached for him.

Lan cried until he fell asleep. 

Tong put Lan on the sofa before he asked the nurse for a blanket to cover him. He then asked Jin to tell him about the situation. Jin didn't know much about the situation either other than when Lan came to ask him for help.

As if remembering something Jin borrow Tong's cell phone to give his boss a call.

Today, Jin was supposed to bring some important documents for his boss and attend an important meeting with him, however, he had totally forgotten about it.

Besides, he couldn't leave Lan alone since he was just a kid.

More importantly, he knew how important Ming Yu was to his boss, therefore he wasn't worried that his boss would punish him for slacking off.

Inside the meeting room in the Fu company, Fu Heng sat there feeling kind of pissed off as his secretary not only didn't show up on time for the first time, but he couldn't contact him at all.

The meeting has been going on for about 30 minutes now. Fu Heng was listening to the managers from the different departments discussing their ideas and plans for the upcoming projects.

Suddenly, Fu Heng's cell phone on the table was vibrating. Seeing an unfamiliar incoming call, he just canceled the call and didn't bother about it. It didn't take long before his phone was vibrating again.

Fu Heng was in a very bad mood upon knowing that someone is trying to target his ah Yu. He got very annoyed by the incoming call and canceled it again. Yet, his phone keeps on vibrating.

The managers inside the room couldn't help, but curse at whoever is making their boss angry.

Fu Heng's phone kept on vibrating nonstop making him feel very annoyed, thus he decided to answer the call with a cold voice, "Who?"

The room becomes silent as no one dares to speak when their mighty and scary boss is talking on the phone.

"Boss."

"I'm still your boss?"

Knowing that his boss is angry at him, Jin can only use his safe card, "Boss, your wife is in the hospital."

"What!" Fu Heng was startled since he knew that the wife Jin was referring to could only be Ming Yu. He continued, "Which hospital?"

"T hospital."

Fu Heng hung up the phone and left the meeting room in a hurry startled all the managers, yet no one dared to question nor stop their mighty boss in fear of being fired.

Ending the call, Jin passed Tong back his phone.

Tong stared at him before taking his phone back, and called his boss.

Just like Jin, he also had an important meeting to attend with his boss, but he had totally forgotten about it. Yet, he wasn't worried that his boss would punish him since he knew how crazy his boss was about Ming Yu making him check on the latter's background.
