Narrator's POV
While (y/n) was deeply thinking about who she'll live with forever, America whispered to Russia, "I bet (y/n)'s going to choose me." Raising an eyebrow at the American, Russia asked, "What makes you so sure?"
"Because she loves me!"
"Oh, really?" the Russian responded with a smug look on his face.
"Fine. How about we bet on it? Winner gets bragging rights." America declared, confident (y/n)'ll fall for him. Russia nodded. The two were overheard by all the nearby countries, like China, Australia, Canada, North Korea, and Vietnam. All of a sudden, everyone was betting on themselves to be chosen by (y/n). Now, all that remained was the girl's answer...
As soon as the female looked up, everyone fell silent, hoping their name was the one that came out of her. Opening her mouth, (y/n) took a deep breath and declared, "I will go with..." Everyone watched the girl's every move and, then came the answer they were looking for...
"America."
"WHAT!!!" Everyone, even Jade, looked at (y/n) in shock. America quickly recovered and yelled, "In your face Russia!!!", making the Russian grumble something in his language. Looking at his sister, Jade whispered, "Are you sure about this decision..? I mean, America might not be the best person to protect you from Al-Qaeda..." (y/n) nodded and smiled.
(Time skip)
On the backseat of America's car, (y/n) thought long and hard about what to do next. 'Al-Qaeda might be coming for me... I don't want to go through all that again...' The girl shuddered at the memory. The blood, the pain, the dizziness and searing pain... Shaking the thought out of her head, (y/n) thought about how to prevent all of that happening again...
"Come on (y/n)." America's voice made the girl look up, bumping her head on the window frame. The country chuckled at the sight of (y/n). The female could feel her face turning red from embarrassment. Walking into the house, the two smiled and laughed while Jade followed them, thinking about something. "I told you I'll do it right?" Jade raised an eyebrow and overheard his sister talking to her 'Boyfriend'.
"Hm?" (y/n) hummed, turning her attention to the country next to her.
"I told you I'll make you mine one day, remember?"
A small smile plastered on his face, Jade thought in his head, 'I did it Dad. I protected (y/n) and now she's got someone new to protect her...' Looking down at the crack on his arm, Jade saw it had grown larger by the day. 'I didn't have much time left and I was harsh on everyone so I could find someone that was loyal and could take care of (y/n) forever...'
The male could feel himself tearing at the seams and parts of him crumbling away. He promised to protect his sister and now that she had someone else to protect her so he could die in peace...
