Chapter 48: A new Korea (North Korea)

<By the title, I mean a career. It's an ok pun..>

Narrator's POV

Thoughts jumbled in (y/n)'s mind as she thought of who to have to protect her from Al-Qaeda. Someone who has the right weapons and are experienced enough to use the weapon... Her thoughts landed on one country who fulfilled both of the criteria. The question is if the country wanted to do it or not...

Taking a deep breath, the girl started to say who she wanted as her protector. "I would like..." The girl began, before feeling the tension in the air. Biting her lip, (y/n) was about to reconsider when she stopped herself. 'I've already gotten this far... How can I stop now?' she thought. Taking a deep breath, (y/n), filled with new determination, continued.

"North Korea."

North's eyes widened, not imagining the girl to say his name. His brother, South Korea, also looked stunned and said to his brother, "Smile! Smile 동료!" <"Smile! Smile brother!"> North Korea just huffed and  turned away from his brother. His brother shrugged before dragging North towards (y/n) and Jade. 

"C'mon! Let's go!" South Korea said, enthusiastically. Our main character nodded and Jade followed. 

(Time skip) 

Sitting at the front seat, (y/n) was talking with South Korea the entire way to America's house. North Korea was silent the entire way,  causing (y/n) to think that he didn't want to guard her. Luckily, South assured the girl that North was just embarrassed. Infact, the country addressed by South was embarrassed as his face was tinted with red. But, North wasn't going to admit it.

After they got (y/n)'s luggage and her dogs, South was babbling on about what he wanted to eat for dinner. North still didn't say a word on the way back to their house. He wasn't the only one silent. Jade had not spoken a single word on the way to and from America's house. The male was deep in thought about something he couldn't tell (y/n) yet. It was addressed to two certain dead people...

'I hope you're proud dad...' Jade thought as he looked out from the window to see the grey sky. 'I did what you asked and took care of (y/n) and now I've found someone else to protect her for the rest of her life, I don't have to worry much longer...' The male sighed and looked up at the silver raindrops that fell onto the car window. 'Soon, I'll be joining you and mom...'

Looking down at his arm, Jade saw that the large crack had grown to stretch all the way from his wrist to his elbow and, it was cracking more and more by the minute. Already knowing he didn't have much time left, Jade sighed and knew what he had to do. He needed to tell (y/n) as soon as possible and that time will come sooner than expected...
