A present from the past, a blessing for the future... episode 2 - season 2

Se Ri and Jeong Hyeok have their first challenge, as a married couple apart for one year. But, if Se Ri is really pregnant? Will she be able to wait another eleven months? And Jeong Hyeok, will he endure the distance, away from her?

What if something from Se Ri's past could give them a hand? A secret only one person knows and that maybe could be useful this particular case?

Jeong Hyeok couldn't sleep. He started playing the piano one more time, the only thing that could give him some peace, trying to ease his mind but he was feeling so anxious, so restless, that right moment...

Since his arrival, from Switzerland, now a married man, all he could think of was to countdown the days to be with Se Ri again, in their love nest. Those days had been so perfect, so much more than he had ever imagined they could be... Since he was back in PyongYang, he had been trying to compose a new song for her, called «My destiny» but, somehow, his creativity was running low that evening. He felt so lonely in that apartment and suddenly he just wanted to go back in time and feel the woman he loved in his arms. His wife, his Se Ri, the one that made all the efforts worthwhile.

He started playing again, trying to keep focused but it was useless... It was as if his mind was somewhere else... 150 km from there, in Seoul... He should be enjoying his honey moon, not there, alone, trying to imagine what Se Ri would be doing that exact moment...

Oh! It was useless. He needed to get out of there; he grabbed his coat and left. Some fresh air would do him good...

When he was already walking by the Taedong River, his phone rang:

- Yes... yes this is he... did you say «hospital»? Of course, I'll go right away...

Jeong Hyeok hung up the phone and started to run, heading home, where his car was parked. He immediately drove to the Military Hospital and, there, sought for information:

- I am Ri Jeong Hyeok... I received a call that my father had been admitted here with a heart attack...

A doctor approached and made a sign, to talk to him. His mother was already there, crying, so Jeong Hyeok took her by the arm, trying to comfort her, while the doctor was telling them about the medical condition of the Director Ri Choong-ryeol.

- We're still performing some exams but he needs to rest now... I understand he was at a meeting and suddenly felt bad so we have to keep him for the night, in surveillance.

- My poor husband... When can I take him home? He hates hospitals...

- My lady, your husband's situation is controlled, for the moment... but he must stay tonight, to be monitorized... so, if you want to go home...

- Can I see my father?

- Mr. Jeong Hyeok, it's best if we let him rest, spare him from any emotional...

- Dr. Kang? – a nurse approached the doctor and whispered him his patient insisted he wanted to see his wife.

- Well... it seems your father will only rest if he sees his wife, even if it is for one minute, so I will open an exception... or else I fear he will not rest at all, so it's best if we keep him calm. These first hours are very important so, please, don't stay more time than the necessary...

Jeong Hyeok took his mother to the room where his father was resting and waited for her, on the outside. Of course his father needed to see his mother... despite that image of a relentless military officer, his father was completely mad for his Kim Yoon-hee and their love story had been lasting for more than four decades...
