My heart was almost banging out my chest and my stomach was carousing with my kidneys. Any second now, she'll knock at the door.

I looked at my watch...again.

8:58 am. This five-minute wait was fucking killing me.

Chill out! We looked like a prick yesterday and the note. Fuckin' hell. The note!

My breathing picked up a little. And then I heard movement and a tap on my door.

"Enter." At least my voice was steady, even. Good, good. I've got this.

In she walked, I felt lighter, the air in my office became warmer and my stomach clenched at the mere sight of her.

My wolf let out a yelp and a whimper.

Fuckin' hell, we were both pathetic.

The air in the room seemed thinner as if being sucked out. My lungs felt tight and I was gawping again. This was beyond a jokeand I was the fricken punchline.

Who the... or what the hell was I turning into?

She looked at me as I noticed how different her hair was today. Whathair? Am I really assessing her hairstyle?

Apparently so...

Today it's messy, not the sleek look from yesterday and it's so fuckin' sexy - like she's just got out of bed in fact it looked like 'I just got fucked' hair.

Sweat prickled over the back of my neck and my stomach dropped to my balls.

What if she had just been fucked?

My eyes darted across her face, paying close attention to the subtle hints a sexual encounter would show. Her cheeks were a little flushed, her lips full. The fantasy of her from my shower this morning popped into my head and my dick stiffened. At least he was working as he should be.

But reality delivered a sucker punch.

What if she had a husband or a wanker of a boyfriend... or she's gay?

Gay, that didn't bother me. Hell, it's fucking hot and I imagine working with that. Scanning her fingers I checked for any signs of a ring. Nothing. Just perfectly manicured nails.

Phew. My shoulders relaxed. Not married so that was one less hurdle to jump over. And if there was a boyfriend, well, it never stopped me before.

But back to Sage. She was looking at me, still waiting for me to say something; anything. I know I should give her work to get on with, but surely just one more minute to let myself drown in the goddess she was.

Who would that hurt?

She didn't dress like the other women who usually surrounded me, always trying to get my attention. Nowith her, nothing was on show, which left everything to my imagination. And my imagination was running fucking wild. This woman dressed for herselfnot for anybody else. It absolutely gave her an air of confidence and was sexy as fuck.

There was no point denying it. I wanted her—badly.

So badly it scared me. But what unexpectedly worried me more was... what if she didn't want me? I swallowed, hard.

Quit it mate, that's never happened—Ever!

Time to man the fuck up. Focus. Game starts here.

"Good morning Miss Dufrene. Take a seat." I pointed to the chair opposite my desk. She nodded her head and sat.

Sitting there, back straight, knees together with her hands in her lap, she was waiting for my instruction. "I hope you managed to get set up yesterday, with no problems, yeah?" I scraped my teeth over my bottom lip, eyebrow raised.
