Seoyoung's POV
"Dr. Song, I've finished my shift. I'm going to head out now," I said as I poke my head into my supervisor's office. He smiled and nods.
"Alright, thank you for your work, Dr. Moon. Enjoy your evening!" Bowing, I bid him goodbye, grabbed my stuff, changed then started on my way home. Rubbing my hands when I reached my doorstep, I typed in my passcode and stepped into the warmth. There's no better feeling than going home after a long day of work. I'm a doctor, a surgeon to be exact. It's a lot of work, but it definitely is worth it. Chucking my stuff onto the floor, I decided to take a shower, so I headed up to my room to grab some fresh clothes.
Opening the door to my room, I screamed and dropped to the floor at the voice that suddenly shouted, "Heyyyy!" Clutching my chest, breathing heavily, I glared angrily at the man sitting on the couch, laughing.
"Sook Daniel! How many times do I need to change the passcode on the door!" I yelled as I stood up, knees weak.
He smiled, saying, "You know no lock can keep me out," mischievously.
Finally able to stand properly, I mustered my scariest glare (which wasn't very scary) and grumbled, "Don't ever do that again."
Daniel grinned cheekily and said, "Of course." Huffing, I go over to my closet and start picking out clothes until a hand stopped me, taking the clothes and throwing them onto the couch.
"Yah! What are you doing-?" But I didn't get to finish my sentence as Daniel grabs hold of my wrist, dragging me onto the couch.
"I need to talk to you," he said. I rolled my eyes and tried to stand up, but he pulled me back down.
"Yah! I've just worked a ten-hour shift. I want a relaxing shower without annoying idiots in my house. Now if you'll excuse me," I shook off his hand to grab the clothes but heard a deep sigh come from behind.
"Please, Seoyoung, I really want to talk to someone about it." Hearing his voice turn serious and sombre, I stopped in my tracks and closed my eyes, breathing in deeply. Don't fall for it, don't fall for it. "Please, Seoyoung-ah." Damn it. Curse my soft heart. Heaving a great sigh, I walked back to the couch, took a seat and placed the clothes aside.
"Okay, what's wrong?"
"So there's this girl I've recently realized I like, I think I've liked her for a while now, and I'm wondering if I should tell her how I feel or not." I raised my eyebrow in incredulity.
"So, you stopped me from getting the break I long deserve, to talk about your girl problems?!" I said, exasperated.
"No- It's not like that. I really really like her. I'm scared to tell her because I'm worried it might ruin the friendship we already have, but I'm also afraid that if I don't tell her soon, it'll be too late." Hearing the sincerity and woe in his voice, I could tell that this problem was seriously bothering him, and for a long time at that.
"Okay well, let's make this simpler. There are only two answers you can choose, yes or no. You pick one, you can't have both. If you do admit your feelings for her, what do you want the outcome to be?"
"What do you mean?"
"I'm asking if you want to just date for a while, to see how it is, or do you want this to be a serious, committed relationship, something you want in your far future?"
He stopped to think for a moment, then answers confidently, "I want to live the rest of my life with her." My eyebrows jumped to my forehead.
"Really?"
"Really." Huh, I did not think Daniel was the type who would feel so passionate about someone.
"Alright well, to do that-"
"I'd have to pick yes, right?"
"That's right." But before he could say anything, I heard a phone ring. "Is that yours?" Daniel dug in his pockets and fished out his phone. I noticed his lips tighten and that he grasped the phone forcefully when he saw the caller ID.
"I-I have to take this, sorry." I nodded my head and gestured for him to pick up. "Yes, boss?... Yes, that's right...Of course... I will be ready." Then he ended the call. Curious, I asked who it was. "Um, it was him."
"Ah, your gang thing, right? What was it, Nightingale?" He quickly clasped a hand over my mouth before I could say more.
"You're not supposed to know, remember?" he whisper-growled, his hand still over my mouth. I nodded, shrugging his hand off.
"What is it this time?" Again, his lips pressed into a thin line as he cleared his throat and stood up.
"I've gotta go," he said as he reached for the doorknob. I quickly dash in front of him, blocking the way as I look up into his unique sterling blue eyes.
"Daniel, you can't keep doing this."
"This doesn't concern you-"
"If you're not going to quit, then at least tell me where you're going! What if something happens? Then no one knows where to even find your dead body-!"
"I'm trying to protect you!" he suddenly yells, causing tears to rise in my eyes.
"Daniel, please. I'm worried. I always do. Please, just tell me where you're going, for the sake of my mind," I beg, still barricading the door. He could have easily pushed me out of the way, like all the other times, but he stood still, a very severe and anguished look on his face.
"The street behind the stadium," and with that, he shoved me out of the way and hastily made his exit.
