Jack's father, a man that was logical. From the small time I've known him, I can tell he is not someone I can trust. However, I don't know where I would have gone if it wasn't for him, so I'll keep my cool. He was standing right in front of me, inviting me to who knows where. But, I had no choice yet to go along with him.
"Yes, sir," I said to him trying to keep my formalities.
"Skip, the formalities. You can call me Mr. C," he seemed a little amused.
He looked out the window and saw the flowers blooming, the pinks, yellows, and whites, all mixing together to form a rainbow of sorts.
"Let's have our chat outside," Mr. C walked passed the living room closer to the kitchen and towards a door on the far side.
He opened it and inside was another room and to the right was a door to the backyard. He opened it and we walked outside, the flowers, shrubs, and trees created a path of sorts all branching and soon we reached a large patio. The patio had curved furniture and umbrellas hanging by the overhead trees. He sat down on the far side of the couch. I sat down on the other part of the couch opposite of him.
"Let's get down to the point," he said to me and leaned back.
I stayed silent and merely looked at the ground waiting for him to say anything.
"I did a bit about your species, a human right? I couldn't find anything. You're a mystery," he sighed.
"I'm a man of science and study all lifeforms, specify ones that have some sort of mutation from a past generation," He looked at me with his blank face, a small frown, and cold eyes.
"I want to study you, however, Jack has been needing someone your age to be there for him. Or that's what I think" Mr. C said to me.
Jack needed someone his age, I didn't know why but I had a bad feeling once again. This world is very unpredictable.
"So, I want to adopt you. I can study you and you can be there for Jack," he smiled, it was real this time and it made me nervous as well.
Did he want to adopt me? The only bright side of this is I can be with Jack, but I still have only known him for a day. I didn't have a choice in the matter though, where else would I go? Who else would want to adopt me? I mean they think I look like a monkey!
"Well, I don't have any other choice," I said while looking down and my legs, they were starting to tremble.
I felt like things were going to start to crumble, starting with my new living situation.
"You always have a choice, I'll get the paperwork started. But before I go I must tell you something," his face filled with a tint of sympathy.
"I pretty sure this must be hard, but fret not because as long as your keeping Jack happy and new information coming in. You'll live happily," He started to walk off.
Jack's father was still in his suit from earlier today, he was walking down the path we came from and just as I thought this dreadful moment was over he turned back to me.
"Who knows, you might live even better than before you came to this world," he said to me with a small smile.
"I will never live better here," I thought to myself. I left my family, friends, and everything else in the world. The people I'll never see again. This will never be better.
By the time our conversation was over and some time had passed was 4:12 pm. That's when Jack's father started talking, once again.
