Chp. 14

I sighed, we were eating breakfast when I heard familiar footsteps. It was no other than Jack's father. He entered with a grin on his face but when he opened his eyes he frowned at me. I had a bad feeling growing in my stomach as he slowly approached us.

"Good morning you two," I hated how Jack's father kept up this act, but knowing him I was sure he had been plotting something since the hospital.

"I'm afraid I need to pull Ethan out for a bit," he said with sympathy to Jack.

"Oh, ok. Will you be back before noon? I wanted to introduce him to Legoshi," Jack wanted me to meet his best friend, after all, he needed to tell him the news sooner than later.

"Most likely, let's get going," he started walking away.

"Ok," I said calmly and collected, how bad could it be?

Soon we were in the car driving to the location he brought me to before. A house in the middle of nowhere. I didn' know what his intentions were this time but I knew they couldn't be good. Ever since my "transformation", he has been even colder. Before I knew it we had pulled into the slanted driveway. Without saying a word we exited the car and went into the house. He grabbed more shoulder and shoved me into the couch.

"Ethan, today, I had plans to get rid of you," my ears fell flat and I watched as he towered over me.

"But, I saw something last night," he glared at me once more before sitting down.

He was silent for a moment. I couldn't think, I felt mindless and tried to think of some way to get out of this situation. But I didn't know what to do.

"I wanted to see if Jack was sleeping soundly and I saw you two cuddling," he sighed and slouched, it was like he gave up.

"I never thought my son would be," he scowled.

"I never thought he would fall in love with someone like you!" He got up and pointed at me.

I guess there was a silver lining to all this. He knows his son isn't straight. I tried to say something but I couldn't speak, I just looked down while he started to vent.

"Your lucky I love my son! Now... Now you're too important to him, I can't... get rid of you," he started to break down, leaning on the table.

I bit my lip, I couldn't stand the feeling. I took a deep breath and tried to come up with something to say.

"Just so you know, I love him. He loves me and I just want him to be happy," I tried to sound sympathetic, but it was so difficult.

This man was so rude and inconsiderate. I didn't want to do anything for him but a tiny fraction of me wanted to be in good terms with him. But more importantly for Jack, I would try to be nice.

"Whatever, I bet this is a phase and once it's done he'll get over you," he scolded and smirked.

He walked toward the door and slipped on his shoes before glaring at me. I assume that was all he wanted to talk about. I doubt we'll ever be on good terms, I ruined his dreams after all. I went over and got on my shoes and then returned to the car. I needed to talk to Jack about all of this...
