(BTW, I don't have a specific day I will post a new chapter. However, I do have an entire plot set up and hope to upload at least every two weeks, if not every week.)

"To celebrate Ethan's arrival, I will be treating us to a nice Italian style dinner! Made by yours truly," Jack's father, Mr. C said to us.

Although he seemed nicer, perhaps what Jack was talking about earlier, I still wasn't sure that it was genuine but decided to play along anyway.

"Sounds fantastic!" Jack said with his classic smile, it almost seemed to be happy.

However, the thought of Jack, the person that comforted me at my time of need, faking his happy personality. I don't think I could take it along with everything else that is happening in my life. I decided to brush the thought away not wanting something else to worry about.

"It does sound good, and now that I think about it I am quite hungry," I said with a pleased look on my slightly pale face.

"That reminds me, are you a carnivore or a herbivore?" Jack's father said to me in a much lighter voice than his typical one.

I was very confused about his question, does it matter? I wasn't sure about the hierarchy of this world at that moment and decided to ask Jack about it later.

"Uhh, I'm an omnivore actually," I responded.

I wanted to describe how humans evolved, made tools, and whatnot, but if I talked about how humans hunt, I'm not sure I would receive good responses considering there might be a hierarchy system between types of animals. I wasn't sure what the world was like but it was definitely different from my own.

"Got it, while I'm preparing our meal why don't you two discuss the sleeping situation," he looked at us both and then glanced over at Jack specifically.

"He'll need to sleep in your room for the moment, the guest bedroom needs to be cleaned," he said to Jack and then proceeded to prepare the sauce.

"Ok, we'll be in my room in that case," Jack turned to me.

"C'mon, I'll show you my room," he brought me down the hallway to one of the rooms.

He opened the door and inside was a queen-sized bed on a dark oak frame. There was furniture around the room and windows on the far wall. His room was very nice, it made me miss my own.

"We don't have any extra mattresses you can sleep on. And this floor isn't going to work out either. Hmm," Jack was thinking and staring at his queen size bed.

It was a nervous feeling I had, I would be staying in this home for who knows how long? On top of that, I would be studied and documented. The nuclear cherry on top was everything else on my shoulders.

"I guess, you'll sleep with me," he patted the bed and took an extra pillow and laid it next to what seemed like his.

My cheeks felt red, this guy, who I met a little while ago seemed so nice. I was almost happy to sleep next to him.

"Oh... Um... Ok!" I realized I was blushing and staring at him at the same time and quickly looked away.

I started thinking to myself while he started to talk. Why did I just do that? Do I like him? But so soon? I shook my head and saw that Jack was waiting for a response.

"Sorry, what was that?" I politely asked Jack.

"I just said that you look cute when your face is flustered," he said with a grin and then started to straighten the sheets of the bed.

"So, do you wanna play some video games or do something? My dad will need at least twenty more minutes to finish the food," he pointed to a smallish flatscreen TV next to two beanbags.

"What games do you have?" I noticed he had a game system I was unfamiliar with.

"I got a ton, almost every from every genre. Feel free to tell me what you like. I'll choose a related game," That's when I noticed the small shelving underneath the TV, aisle of video games.

"Two-player, RPGs," I said to him while crouching down to look at the selection.

The shelves were lined with many games with slight differences, for example, when I pulled out a video game there werewolves on the cover. It really now seemed apparent that there were no other humans but I in this world. When I thought about that, the immediate sadness that was there before had faded away and the gap was filled with a sense of not caring about anything and feel like a waste of space. I felt odd about this and felt like something was coming back to me.

"Ahh, that game isn't that good. It was super hyped, but turned out to be a let-down," Jack interrupted my train of thought.

"Uhh, ok. Then what would you recommend?" I asked him while still trying to recall the memory that just flew by.

Jack grinned and scanned the shelves. I had a suspicious feeling that these games were more organized than I thought they were. He pointed at a game with his fur-covered finger and while still pointing slid to the left, ending at a game that had a green and blue spine.

"This is a good one! It is all about the endeavors of a brother and his closest friend and how they reunite all the races after each race has been placed with a terrible curse," his hazel eyes lit up as he looked at the cover.

He flipped the cover around and held it up for me to see. It had what seemed two peculiar races coming out from the water, a race in the sky, and two on the planet's surface. It looked super interesting.

"This is the game for me!" I looked into Jack's eyes, I could see we shared excitement for this game.

He slid it into the console and handed me a controller. The game kicked on and the opening music emerged. The sound of an adventure exhilarating makes your heartbeat, and above all else; temporarily makes you fill the empty void in your soul that never goes away.

"Wait, what?" I said out loud.

I couldn't believe what I just thought. I'm not sure what happened in the last few months in my life but it surely had something to do with this. Perhaps I don't have all of my memories, but that only happened to people in the movies, right?

Notes:
