Author's Note: Sorry for not updating sooner, I can't write this story every day now because of the school year. Although a lack of inspiration has had a lot to do with it. I do want to start on my Pina x male reader again, and I also want to create an original story. I also had an idea to create a Zelda breath of the wild/Fate story, so that might happen. Anyway, sorry for not updating.

Part 2.

Chapter 5.

Ethan's POV

I took a deep breath as I concentrated all of my efforts on creating a believable smile. I started to walk toward the front desk, each step closer made my body shake in agony. I wanted to scream, I wanted to scream away what I came to be, I wanted to scream away this pathetic excuse for a life. I open the door and held it open for Legoshi, staring at him with a sorry excuse for a smile. I scanned the room for Jack, nowhere to be seen. I walked up to the front desk.

"Excuse me, but would you happened to know if there is a yellow lab around here somewhere?" I asked with a tone that reminded me of Jack's father.

"Yes, um- he's out in the patio. Enjoying some tea," they said kindly.

"Thank you," I said quietly as I signaled to Legoshi.

I opened the clear glass door and held it open, delaying the burning feeling growing inside of me. I took another breath and followed Legoshi out onto the patio. They were sitting on the far end. Legoshi took a seat next to Louis and I sat down next to Jack. There was an awkward silence emanating from this table, whatever the cause, it's not good.

"Well, I'm glad you two could FINALLY join us!" Louis faced Legoshi with his petrifying gaze.

"I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you," his ears dropped and his tail fell flat.

Looking at them made me feel happy, it made me feel jealous. What do they have that I don't?

"Hey," Jack's warm hand gripped my own.

"Hi," I smiled back at him, my tail didn't wag, my ears shot down with worry.

"Well, we were just finishing our tea," Louis said trying to hide his annoyed tone.

"We also finished checking into our rooms for the weekend," Jack added on.

"Thanks, Jack, you too Louis," I said with a soft kind tone.

That at least was genuine, even though it was still pretty bad. I can do this, no problem.

"We're going to our room, lets meet in the lobby in an hour," he tugged on Legoshi's ear as he writhed in pain.

We both smiled as they left for their room. I only felt worse, it was just me and him. I want to tell him everything, but he was so motivated to stop his dad. He was disgusted by the act, he never said it but whenever he talked about it he never described it lightly. Eating meat, eating other's flesh, tomato tomahto.

"Do you want to head to our room?" Jack asked me,

I nodded and followed behind him with my head down.

"So, how was the car ride?" he questioned me.

"It was fine, Legoshi was just late," I answered bleakly.

We reached the room, it was on the third room out of a series of around fifteen. Jack opened the door to reveal a small room with a bed, a bathroom, and a window to the forest. I walked over and stared out the window, thinking about my life. I thought about the dumb mistakes I made along the way and the friends that deserted me.

"Do you like the forest?" Jack asked me another question.

"Sure," I respond.

"Listen, if something is on your mind you can tell me. We're in this together," he rested his hand onto my shoulder.

Tears were forming, I really wanted to turn and fall into his arms. Tell him everything and then life magically get back to normal. But, if I tell him, history might repeat itself. What blew me off the edge in the first place, losing someone and then riding the one-way train to hell.

"I'm fine," I said and turned around with a small smile.

"No, you not," he frowned, looked down with disappointment, and walked toward the bathroom.

"When will I earn your trust?" He shut the bathroom door.
