(Ryu's POV)

I sat on the roof with my feet hanging over the edge, cigarette in my mouth.

"Thought you'd be here." Boss said.

I ignored him.

"Got anymore?" He asked referring to my cigarette. I fished the box out of my pocket and handed it to him.

"Thanks." He said handing the box back. "Got a light?"

I arched my eyebrow at him.

"Of course not." He sighed, grabbing the box and putting it back inside. "So what's your game plan?"

"Game plan?"

"Yeah. What are you going to do?"

"The less you know the better."

"Ryu, I am your boss and friend. I will help however I can."

I rolled my eyes. "I don't need your help."

"You can't do this on your own."

"Why not?"

"Because....because....you just can't."

"Real valid argument."

"Ryu-"

He was cut off by the sound of the door opening followed by the faint sound of feet walking this way.

"What've I told you about roofs?" I asked.

"If you don't want me up here then maybe you shouldn't be up here." Aria fired back.

I smirked. She was my little spitfire.

"And what are you doing sitting there? What if you fall?"

"Oh well."

I then felt something hit my back. She had thrown a rock at me, a broken piece of concrete. I turned around and saw her standing there with her hands on her hips.

"You're gonna pay for that."

She flipped me off before turning around and walking back inside. I threw my cigarette to the side, said bye to Boss, and went after her.

I caught her as she was in the hallway. Everyone else had either gone home or gone to bed so it was just us.

I grabbed her wrist and turned her to face me. A small gasp left her lips as she landed with a small thud against the wall. She was trapped between me and the wall.

She didn't look scared. Not frightened. Not even a little bit. Instead, a fire was burning in her eyes.

After all these years, from the time we were little kids to now, she was still the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen.

She leaned up and gave me a quick kiss. She then gave me her 1,000 watt smile and wrapped her arms around my neck, pulling me closer.

"あなたに会いたかった." She whispered, her lips brushing my ear as she spoke.
(I missed you.)

"だからあなたは私に言った" I teased.
(So you have told me.)

She yanked some of my hair in response which made me chuckle.

"私はあなたを愛しています、子猫." I told her.
(I love you, Kitten.)

"I love you to."

She kissed my neck before pulling back.

"Can we go to bed? I'm tired and I'm starting to ache."

I nodded. "Come on."

Five minutes later, we were laying in bed. She was pressed up against me as tight as she could. She had one leg tangled with mine and her head on my chest. I thought she'd fallen asleep, but then I felt her fingers begin to lightly trace my koi tattoo.

"Ryu,"

"Yes?"

"Promise me something."

"What is it, Koneko?"

"You won't go to far. You won't go to that dark place in your mind again. I won't have to fight to pull you out."

"I'm going to do what needs to be done, Koneko."

She lifted her head up so she could see my face.

"Just promise that you won't leave me."

I placed my hand on her face and gently brushed her cheek with my thumb.

"I won't ever leave you, Koneko. I promise you."

She stared at me for another minute before nodding and laying her head back down.

"Bianchi is intrigued by you." She said, moving her hand down to my abdomen.

"I know."

"He said he pulled his gun on you."

"His son did to."

"Why?"

"Pinned him to the roof with my knife to his neck."

She chuckled. "That'll do it. Remember when you accidentally did that to me? You were deep in thought and as I was approaching you, I sneezed."

I grinned. "You didn't look scared though."

"Don't you remember what happened after that?"

I smirked at the memory. Two minutes after that happened, we were in bed with zero stitching of clothing on. It was a good night.

"Bianchi wants to take me with him when he goes back to the states."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"You gonna go?"

"I don't know."

"If you go then I go."

"I know, Koneko. It's been that way since grade-school. Like my extra shadow."

"Always will be."

"Go to sleep now." I said pulling the blanket further up.

Within minutes she was fast asleep.

************

The next morning, I was in the kitchen with Aria when Bianchi came in.

"Why are you still here?" I asked.

"Decided to stick around a while."

"And your son?" Aria asked.

"He went home." He said sitting beside me at the kitchen island. "So what the plan for today?"

I arched my eyebrow at him. "How is that any of your business?"

He grinned. "I'm going to you."

"I don't-"

"I know, I know. You don't need my help, but that's to bad. You've got it anyway." He said as Boss came in. "Mr. Nakamura, may I have your permission?"

"My permission? For what?" Boss asked.

Bianchi placed his arm around my shoulder as I took a sip of my coffee. "To raise a little hell in your city with my friend here."

Boss smiled. "Mr. Bianchi, a man like you doesn't need to ask."

"Fantastic." He cheered before looking at me. "Shall we get started?"

I rolled my eyes.

(Aria's POV)

I watched as Ryu shrugged Bianchi s arm off and went back to eating his breakfast.

"Play nice." I whispered, pinching the inside of his leg.

His only response was a smirk. A smirk I'd seen to many times. The kind of smirk that screamed nothing but trouble.

"Oh boy." I mumbled.
