(Ryu's POV)

Before Yuki got up the next morning we were gone. I left him a note along with $10,000 for the trouble we gave him. After that, we gathered more clothes and headed out.

Two hours later, we were walking down an alley. Aria was a bit concerned about where we were going so she held my hand very tightly the entire time.

At the end of the alley was a door. A door with a lock that only one key would fit. One key that I had.

Once inside, I flipped a couple switches and lights came on.

"This is where...." Aria trailed off as she walked around.

"Yeah." I said sitting our three bags down.

"We'll stay here? Be safe here?"

"Only two people know about this place. You and me. We'll stay here for a few days until I figure something else out. Everything works here. The kitchen, plumbing, electricity obviously."

She nodded.

"It's not the nicest place,"

"It's great, Ryu. Really." She smiled.

She unpacked our stuff as I went through the stuff I'd collected at her mom's. Later, I went out to grab some food.

"What were you looking at over there?" She asked as we ate.

"They were your moms. I grabbed everything I could. Thought something in them would give some direction."

"Did they? Did you find something?"

"Not yet. I grabbed her phone though. I still need to look through that."

"You killed her right? My mom?"

"I did."

She let out a deep breath and smiled. "The world is better without her. She was never a good mother."

"Hey," I said making her look at me. "All we need is each other. No one else. Yeah?"

"Exactly."

After we ate, she laid on the couch with her head on my leg as I continued going through her moms stuff.

"Ryu, why didn't you just call your boss for help?" She asked.

"Your mother had connections. Deep connections. She was the only woman with a position in the Yakuza. I don't know how deep her connections went."

"You're saying that Nakamura might've had a part in it all?"

"I don't know, but I will find out."

I went through everything until I was blue in the face and I found nothing to help me....

Until I moved onto the phone.

"Koneko," I said looking down at her.

"Mhmm."

"You gonna be alright alone for a while?"

"I'll be okay. Why?"

"I gotta go....see a guy about something."
