*Jens pov*
I walk off with Elaine into the backyard, a lot of people are here now. "Baby, are you okay now?" I ask Emme while I'm still holding her. "Yes mommy." She nods. "Ok, go find Max." I say and put her down, she runs off back into the house.
Me and Elaine sit on the couches outside under the roof that sticks out. "So how have you been?" She asks me. "I'm okay, what about you?" I ask. "Oh I'm fine, but I wanna know about you Jennifer, how are you really doing with everything?" She places her hand on my thigh. I look the other way, and she notices a mark on my neck. "Jennifer...what has he done?" She gasps.
"Elaine, I'm fine." I put my hand on top of hers. "Really I'm fine." I nod and smile. "You worry me Jen..." She looks down. "Pfft, don't worry about me, I'm ok, I promise." I giggle. "Okay..." She looks back at me. "I'm gonna go and mingle." I stand up. "Alright, I'll go find Eric." She stands up too. "K, see ya!" I walk away.
I go back in the house to find Alex. I see him in the other room watching football with some of the guys, that's what he always does whenever we have a party, it kind of annoyes me since all the men just hideaway...but it's fine I guess. I don't really know what to do, all these people live in the neighborhood, so I know them all, and I don't really have any catching up to do since we literally can go outside and see eachother.
I go over to the food and just pick at some of the fruit. I'm really debating on going upstairs and just playing on my phone. Actually, I think I'll do that. I head over to the stairs and look over to make sure no one sees me, but then I see this girl I've never seen before, I mean I saw her for a second earlier, but I don't personally know her, so I decide to talk to her.
I stop at the steps, and turn around heading over to the living room, other people are talking around her, but not to her. I walk over to the couch, she's facing the opposite direction, it looks like she's looking out the window, damn she's that bored. Then I walk in front of the couch and sit beside her and cross my legs. "Hey." I say looking at her. She turns around and kind of eyes me down.. Damn, she's really pretty.. "Hi." She says. "I'm sorry, I saw you earlier, but I didn't get to introduce myself." I giggle. "Oh you're fine, I'm Leah." She smiles, wow I really love her voice. "I'm Jennifer, so you're new to the neighborhood right?" I ask. "Yeah, me and my husband just moved in, he's around here somewhere." She says looking around. "Right, Alex mentioned your husband to me." I nod. "So...I can tell you're pretty bored." I smile. "Oh! No, no I'm fine." She assures me. "Yeah right." I giggle. "It's ok, these sorta things aren't always fun when you don't know anyone." I say. "Yeah...how long have you lived here?" She asks. "Hmm, about 4 years." I respond. "Wow." She nods.
"Yup, do you like the neighborhood?" I ask. "Yes, definitely, it's a big change from our old one, but it's a good change." She laughs. "I see." I laugh with her. "So Max and Emme are your's?" She asks. "Yeah, my little coconuts...sorry if they were bothering you earlier, they're very outgoing." I giggle. "Oh it's ok, they're really cute! Are they twins?" She asks crossing her legs. "Oh yes, they can be a pain, but I love them." I nod. "Haha, that's relatable." She giggles. "Oh do you have kids?" I ask. "Yeah, my daughter, Sofia." She says. "Awe, she'll have to meet Max and Emme one day!" I say. "Definitely!" She responds.
I really hope our kids can get along, she seems interesting, and I wanna get to know her better. I feel bad though since she seems bored. "Your house is beautiful, by the way." She randomly says. "Oh, thankyou!" I say happily, I love when people compliment my house because..well I love my house. "Would you like a tour? I don't want you to just sit here all bored." I smile. "Sure. I'd love to see the rest of the house." She nods and we both stand up."
I bring her around the living room and the kitchen, then the game room where all the guys are. I show her all the extra rooms downstairs. Then we head upstairs and I show her Emme's room, then Max's. And all the guest rooms. We go to the 3rd floor and I show her the little living room up there, all the other guest rooms. "Damn there's a lot of extra rooms." She laughs. "I know, the emptiness is the one thing I don't like about this house." I agree. Then I show her me and Alex's room.
"And that's it." I shrug "That's all?" She asks sarcastically. "It's not that big." I laugh. "Yeah right." She laughs too. We head downstairs and just talk in the kitchen. Then Alex comes over. "Babe, come look at this shit!" He says excitingly. "Alex I'm talking to some one." I point at Leah. He looks at me with a serious face and eyes me down. "I'll be right back.." I say to Leah. "Ok." She nods. I sigh and follow Alex to the game room. "What is it?" I ask. "Watch me whoop Mark's ass! If I beat him, it'll be my 3rd streak." He says. "Wow...can I go back and talk now? You kind of just interrupted my conversation.." I say with an attitude. He looks at me and then back at his game. "Fine, whatever." He says. "Thankyou." I sigh and leave.
I head back to where Leah was, but I couldnt find her, then I see her and her husband walking to the door, so I walk over there. "Leaving so soon?" I ask. "Oh yeah...we've gotta go, I'm sorry." Leah says. "Oh it's totally fine, thankyou for coming. And we should hang out again soon!" I smile. "Oh y-yeah, for sure. Have a good night." She says. "You too." I smile and they both walk out the door. I hope they weren't that bored to just leave, I really thought me and her were getting along, oh well, I just hope I see her again soon..
