5-Ouch

*Jens pov*

Me and Alex got back from dinner about 2 hours ago. I'm really glad we went, me and Leah had a good time, I really like her, I hope she thinks the same.

Alex is upstairs in bed asleep, and Max is asleep in his room too. But I'm sitting outside by the pool with Emme in my arms, we always come outside together when we can't sleep.

"When can I see your friend?" Emme asks softly. "Who, Leah?" I ask. "Yeah." She says. "I don't know I'm sure you can see her soon, she lives by us." I say and look down at her. "Really?Does she have people my age there?" She asks. "Yeah, she has a daughter." I giggle. "Really?!" She asks again perking her head up. "Yup, maybe you could be friends with her one day." I suggest. "I hope." She says and gets comfortable again.

Eventually she falls asleep in my arms, and I take her upstairs to her room and put her to bed. I go back outside and just sit since I really can't fall asleep, then I remember I have Leah's number, and I was supposed to text her. Should I? I mean she obviously can't text me first since she doesn't have my number yet.

Ugh, I'll just let her know it's my number.

Jen:"Hey, it's Jennifer"

I text, that seems normal enough. I put my phone down not expecting her to reply right away, but she does.

Leah: "Hey"

She responds.

Jen:"Sorry, I just wanted you to have my number, I didn't even expect you to be up"

Leah:"Oh, yeah, I can't sleep🤷‍♂️"

Jen:"Me either, wyd?"

Leah: "Just texting you lol, wbu?"

Jen: "Same here lol."
Jen: "I had fun tonight🙃"

Leah: "Me too, I can tell you're touchy lol."

Jen: "Oh, yeah...sorry...I can't help it lol. But If it bothers you I can stop, I usually don't even realize."

Leah: "Oh no, I don't mind, I just thought it was cute."

Jen: "Oh🙂"

Awe she thinks I'm cute, I'm glad I didn't annoy her though. We texted for a little bit longer, then we eventually said goodnight, and I finally went to bed.

I woke up the next morning, Alex wasn't here since he was work in the mornings. Even though it's the weekend, ugh, and I'm all alone with the kids. So I get up while they're still sleeping, and make breakfast for them. Once I was done I went upstairs and woke them up. Emme got up easily. But Max was a little harder to get up. We all ate breakfast, now we're just watching tv.

"Mamaaaa....I'm bored.." Emme whines and sits up. "I'm sorry baby, I know there's not much to do." I pout and rub her back. "Can we see Leah?" She asks, wow I'm surprised she still remembers her name. "And she can bring her daughter!" She says excitedly. " I don't know baby, the-" Emme cuts me off. "Pleaseeee!?" She begs.  "Okay, I'll call her, but I can't promise that she's gonna be able to come." I look at her. "Yay! Call her, call her!" She says. "Emme! Calm down!" Max says annoyed.

"I'll be right back, stay with your brother." I say and walk outside. Then I call Leah, and wait for her to pick up. "Hello?" She asks, I love her voice more everytime I hear it. "Hey! Uh, I know this is sudden, but Emme really wanted you and Sofia to come over and just hang out, we're all really bored over here.." I giggle. "Oh, well...I'm sure we can come over.." She says. "Sofia do you wanna go and have a little play date?" I hear her say distantly, since she pulled away from the phone.
