Third Person POV~

Elena and Alaric had just walked into the cave where the Viking drawings are.

As Elena shines the flashlight she's holding around, she asks Alaric what all this is.

"Well. As far as I could tell, it's a story. In archeological terms, it's a really, really, old story. That right there, is a moon cycle. A man. And a wolf."

"A werewolf." Elena says as she catches on.

"Yeah. It's the Lockwood diaries. Pictionary style." Damon states, but ultimately gets ignored.

"I don't understand. I thought the Lockwood's came here with the original founders in the 1860s." Elena says, looking towards the history teacher.

"uh, well. Maybe the Lockwood's did. But, according to this wall, werewolves have been here a lot longer than that." Alaric states as he looks at the story.

"How long?" Elena asks, and Damon replies from his soot at the entrance of the area.

"Long. It gets better. Show her Ric."

"Names. And they're not native. They're written in runic. A Viking script." Alaric tells her as he walks over and shines a flashlight at the names. "Vikings?"

"This name here. When it translates it reads... Niklaus... And Elijah... And Rebekah... And Khione." Alaric says as he moves the light from name to name.

Flashback ~

"Rebekah. Let me have at it." Klaus tells his sister as he watches her carve her name into the stone wall of the cave.

"Quiet Niklaus. I have to have my concentration if I'm not to slice off a finger." Rebekah tells her impatient brother.

"Father would not like you handling a blade," he tells his blonde sibling.

"And yet we do it at his peril. Leave her be Niklaus, you will have you turn." Klaus' twin states from her spot on a rock nearby, watching her sister work.

But Rebekah stops her carving for a moment. "If I want to wield a blade, I shall wild a blade. Father need not know." she tells her annoying brother before going back to carving.

"He will find out. He always does." Niklaus tells her, and then both sisters speak at once, "That is because you, always tell him."

"I can't help it. He frightens me." their brother tells them, making Aleksian stand and place both hands on her twin's arm and shoulder.

"He frightens us all." she says, and Rebekah finishes her sentence, "That is why we stick together as one. Always and forever. Right traitor?"

"Right." he answers with a small smile. "Here you finish. Alex and I are to help mother with the meal." Rebekah says as she holds out the knife to Klaus.

"Yes. Go tend to dinner. Leave the blades to the men. Little sisters." Klaus states as he walks to the wall and holds out his hand for the knife.
