an array of small lights surrounded the waterfall before us. it wasn't terribly big, but it streamed down to a pool of water lit up by lanterns floating on makeshift lily pads. hundreds of flowers surrounded the area and the colors reflected on the waters surface. it was beautiful and full of life.
i looked over at changbin who had a look of awe on his face, or maybe nervousness. i really couldn't tell. oh gosh, i knew this whole trip was a lot for him on the first place, but was this too much?
"hey, are you up for this?"
his eyes were locked onto the scenery before us as his hand unbuckled the seatbelt. "let's do this."
i watched him speed walk over to the picture perfect environment and couldn't help but smile. i really hope this made his night better than expected, and if he loved it then i'd have chenle to thank for it.
changbin disappeared behind some bushes covered in small pink flowers, so i hurried after him. the water was even prettier up close and everything reflected off of it with a glittery filter. i peered into the pool of water and was tempted to throw up a peace sign at my reflection, but i stopped when i heard changbin laughing from behind me. when i turned around he was only wearing his shorts, and he was jogging towards me with his arms wide open. i think i got so caught up in the sight that i didn't realize he was about to throw me into the water.
his arms lifted me up off the stone ground and out of instinct i wrapped my arms around his neck. our faces were practically touching as he jumped into the water, bringing us both crashing under the surface. i opened my eyes as we submerged and to my surprise changbin had the biggest smile on his face. we never reached the bottom of the water and eventually found our way back to the surface. every moment with him felt like a movie at this point.
"i love it here, lix!"
"that sure does make me happy."
his hair was dripping wet, yet it still looked really good like some hollister clothing ad or something. his eyes were a little red from the unfamiliar feeling of opening his eyes under water, but his smile never faded. on the other hand i could only imagine what i looked like next to him. let's just say no one could ever come close to changbin when it came to effortlessly being perfect, and that's coming from me.
he started to chuckle a bit and he squeezed me a bit tighter in his arms. "you're so cute, felix. maybe work on the staring problem though, i know i'm cute too, but come on."
"oh wow okay, just call me out like that. not my fault you effortlessly look good in these situations."
"look who's talking!"
"oh yes, my baggy clothes that are now drenched in water are so hot. and my dog like wet hair is so very sexy." i pretended to model myself off, striking various poses in changbin's arms. it made him laugh and then he struggled his shoulders, giving me a very intriguing smirk.
"i'm sure you'd look better without all the layers."
i raised an eyebrow at the offer. "if you insist."

felix insisted on making an entrance even though he technically already entered the water, but whatever made him happy. i waited patiently, just floating on my back waiting for my boy to come back. i kept hearing him giggle from wherever he was, i could only imagine what he was up to.
"binnie baby!"
i positioned myself upright again and turned towards the sound of felix's voice. all that remained on him were his shorts, and god did his waist do the world wonders. my eyes just kept growing as he came closer and closer to the waters edge. soon enough he was in the air ready to splash back down.
i smiled as he jumped into the air with excitement, and i held my arms out for him to fall into. we both quickly dipped under the water, but came back up within seconds.
"h-hey."
"look who's the shy one now, bin." his pointer finger booped my nose and his smile made his eyes turn to half moons.
"it truly is a beautiful sight."
"i know! i'm so glad we found this place. we should come here more-"
"no felix, you."
"what..?"
"i'll never get tired of looking at you."
he leaned in with a smile, placing his forehead against mine. "i sure hope you don't get tired of me. i really wasn't planning on letting you go."
he took a hold of my hand and pulled me under the waterfall. it shielded us from the outside world and it was just the two of us alone. we were surrounded by life of all kind, flowers, leaves, small bushes. it truly was like living in a painting.
we laid against the big stone under the falls with our hands intertwined. i almost forgot about everything wrong with me. yeah, almost.
"changbin your!...hand-"
i looked down at my fingertips to see them connected with a delicate pink flower. the color started to fade and it spread to the other life around it. the colorful environment around us slowly started to fade to grey as the connected life formed a domino effect of death.
i slid myself back into the pool of water, allowing myself to break through the shield of the waterfall. the life around the water was wilted and dark. even the lanterns within the water almost seemed to dim.
i wasn't scared though, not this time. i knew something's were way too good to be completely perfect. the fear i once had for myself faded and i was truly fascinated by my own touch. i felt felix reach out to me to provide comfort, but i didn't need it anymore. i turned to face him, cupping his face in my hands. i brought our lips together like nothing was wrong.
the sight around us was almost, do i dare say...beautiful?
