Dakota Erwing loved the Gone series and you couldn't even imagine when she found out that tryouts for the cast was in her neighboring city, Los Angeles, California.
Dakota's favorite character was Astrid Ellison. She couldn't understand how people hated her. Astrid was smart, beautiful, and in the end, bad@$$. She understood her flaws - how she used Sam, how she ran off, but still - Astrid was the best!
"Mom! Can't I try out?! I love you forever!" Begged the 13 year old.
After a few minutes of pestering her mom caved. "Fine, but don't expect getting the part and it better not be a inappropriate role."
Dakota smiled and nodded- not telling her what happened in Light. (A/n: Wise girl.)
"Oh, thank you, Mom! Love you." Dakota squealed and ran off to go on Facebook to tell her Gone buddies on GONE SERIES (Books by Michael Grant) (A/n: real group, join)
hey guys, guess what! I'm trying out for Astrid
Damen commented: Maybe you'll get the part since there is only like 3 other people who like Astrid in this group.
Dakota got off and looked there whatever Gone merch she had and put the perfect outfit for Astrid on. White blouse and nice jeans. She grabbed the first book and started flipping through all the lines Astrid had, trying each line 5 times.
** 1 day later**
Dakota, still practicing, hears mother call "Dakota! You got mail!"
Excited, Dakota ran to her mom, grabbed the parchment, and scurried back to her room, squealing. She opened the mail and flipped to Astrid's first speaking part.
Astrid: Where's your teacher.
Astrid: Something weird is going on. My math study group...there was only three of us, plus the teacher. All just disappeared.
Dakota smiled, She was going to have this part.
