Chapter 18

Kit was right... The kids were back to their cheerful mode as soon as they saw what Ming had brought for them... Even when the policemen had came by to take statements from Beam and Stephanie, they remained calmed and not feeling distracted at all... They were playing happily in the pool and had totally forgotten about the incident that had happened earlier.

Everyone was enjoying themselves... Even Beam had came out with the help of Forth to watch the kids playing happily... But still there was one particular person who couldn't be as happy as everyone.

No one had noticed that Stephanie was sitting alone quietly at a secluded corner watching the others enjoying themselves... But Ming saw her... He felt it was his responsibility to cheer the girl up, so she could have fun just liked everyone did... Ming was thinking hard on what he should do... A few minutes later, he had an idea on how to do it... so... he quickly went to his jeep, grabbed his guitar that he had kept inside that jeep, then grabbed Kit's hand and tugged the guy to follow him.

- Ming... what are you doing with that guitar?... Kit asked as he followed Ming, walking towards Stephanie... And why are you dragging me with you?

- I need your help to cheer this little lady... Ming whispered as he sat next to Stephanie who seemed so down... Hi Steph... do you mind if I sit here?... He asked even though he had already seated next to the girl.

Stephanie shook her head blushingly and leaned back towards Kit who had taken the seat beside her as well.

- Hmm... I haven't seen your smile at all... Why are you not smiling?

Stephanie was mute but her eyes were diverted to Beam who was waving at her before she looked back at Ming.

- You don't want to play with them?

Stephanie shook her head.

- Then... can you help me with something?

Stephanie didn't answer but kept her stare towards Ming curiously.

- You see Stephanie... I'm in love with P'Kit... And I want to serenade him with a song... but I'm not sure if he will like it.

- Ming!... Kit was embarassed... ¡¿Why are you telling Steph about us?!

- Can't I?... I need her help... You're so hard to please... I need a professional help to make sure that I will win your heart... And Steph is the person I need... Right Steph?

Stephanie who began to understand, had cracked a small smile on her face.

- So I want you to listen to this song that I'm going to sing... and please tell me if this song can make me win his heart... Can you do that for me?

Stephanie nodded in agreement.

- oh... And before I forget... this song is for you too... Ming said and kissed Stephanie's cheek... then began to pluck his guitar and sang the song whilst looking at Kit.

Once the song had ended... Ming put aside his guitar and held Stephanie's hand tightly. - Do you think I can win Dr. Kit's heart with this song?... He asked whilst blinking his eyes repeatedly.

Stephanie smiled and nodded.

- Are you sure?

- Yes...

- Then... give me your best smile ever so I will believe you.

Stephanie did, and she smiled widely to Ming.

- Aaaaww!!... Your smile is so beautiful... I'm sorry Kit... I change my mind... I think I've fallen in love with Stephanie... Ming said as he took Stephanie's hand and held it to his chest... Can you feel it Steph?... My heart is beating so fast like a train speeding on its track.

Stephanie began to laugh... Ming was really funny... Even Kit couldn't contain his smile because of his silly remarks.

- You know what Steph... let's ditch Dr. Kit... Let me take you out on a playdate... Let's join the others before Dr. Kit manage to skin me alive... Just look at his face right now... don't you feel scared?

- MING!!!... Kit pretended to be mad.

- Come on Steph... let's run before he smack me... Ming quickly pulled Stephanie to run with him.

Stephanie was laughing... She began to enjoy her day as they were being chased by Kit... And she even joined Ming, shooting at Kit with the water pump, to shield Ming from being caught by Kit... Stephanie was having so much fun that later on she began to play with other kids as well unhesitantly.

- Ming you're the best... Kit uttered whilst looking at Stephanie.

- I am.. aren't I.... Then... can I have a kiss as a reward for making Steph happy again?

- Sure... come closer... But instead of giving Ming a kiss like he had hoped for... Kit had taken revenge by spraying water to Ming's face using the water pump.

- Oh wow!... You play dirty... This means war Kit!!... Ming yelled and began to spray water to Kit whilst chasing him around the kids who later had joined the water fight as well.
