Chapter 34

Ming wiped his tears and straightened his posture as he faced Kit's parents, waiting for what would come next... He felt restless and drained, but he braced himself to receive the next blow that he would get from Kit's parents.

- Still thinking about our son?... Kit's father questioned the young guy in front of them who seemed completely downhearted... He watched Ming's doleful face and he felt terrible for tormenting that young guy too much.

- I am, Sir... I always think about your son... Ming replied in sadness... His eyes gazed upon the stairs before he continued to speak what was on his mind... I really wish that I can turn back time... so... Kit... would never go through this heart breaking moment... I hate myself from making him cried... If only... I knew... he would be so broken hearted... I would never dare myself to pursue for his love... I... I can't stand..looking at him..crying... It hurts me... Ming lowered his head as his waterworks began to open again.

Kit's mother sighed and slowly she got up, sat next to Ming and rubbed Ming's back gently. 

- Stop crying, Ming... Listen first to what my husband wants to say.

Ming nodded and wiped his tears as he looked up at Kit's father.

- Tell me, Ming... what do you love about our Kit?

Ming paused and slowly he cracked a smile as he thought about Kit.

- Everything, Sir... I definitely love everything about him even his grumpiness... He chortled.

Kit's father sighed and shook his head as he emitted a soft laughter. 

- I guess my Kit has bewitched you completely.

- He did, Sir.

- Well... I'm sorry that I've made you suffered, forcing you to go through all the fuss... Kit's father apologized suddenly.

- P..pardon, Sir... Ming looked at Kit's father in confusion... Then he turned to Kit's mother who was smiling brightly towards him.

- Kit is our only son, Ming... We only want what is best for him... Kit's mother uttered softly.

- I still don't understand... Ming's mind still had a hard time to process the meaning behind those words.

- Well, when we found out that our only son is in love with a guy, we both were stupefied with the news... We wanted to know the truth so I summoned him to come home to ask him personally... Kit confessed to us that he is indeed in love with you... Kit's father exhaled a long sigh before he proceeded with his story... But I still wanted to test him if his love for you is concrete... so... I asked him what he would do if we disapproved... but his answer was totally unexpected... He chose to obey us rather than protecting his love.

Ming furrowed his brows and kept his eyes on Kit's father as he continued with his story.

- I'm sorry if I hurt you with my vicious remarks... I only did that to provoke Kit, so, he would brave himself to protect you... but I guess his love and his loyalty towards us, is more important to him than his own happiness.

Ming couldn't contain his smile as he heard the story. 

- Does this mean you approved of us, Sir?

- I guess so, but...

Ming's breath hitched as he heard the word 'but'... He froze and watched Kit's father grabbed a big envelope and gestured Ming to take it.

- I want you to deal with this first... I don't want my son Kit to get hurt while being with you.

Ming was reluctant but slowly he got up and took the envelope... He then sat back down next to Kit's mother and looked at the content inside that envelope... As soon as he saw the photos and the letters, he became enraged.

- You do know who was the sender as well, right?... Kit told us that it was from your former fiance... Kit's mother said and took the letter to read it again.

- It was him, Sir... No doubt about it.

- Him?... Your former fiance was a guy?... Kit's mother seemed to be perplexed by the news.

Ming nodded nervously.

- That means your parents have no objection about you being in love with another guy?

- No, Sir... They don't mind, Sir... as long as I'm happy with my partner.

- Then... please solve this problem immediately... I don't want Kit to be hurt because of your former fiance... I'll grant you my permission to date my son as long as you promised not to hurt him or let him be hurt in any way... If I find out that he cries because of you... I'm going to revoke my permission and I won't let you to be with him at all.

- I promise that I won't hurt him, Sir... I love Kit too much and I will do anything to make him happy.

- Then, go up there and console my sulking son... Kit's mother pushed Ming to stand up and motioned him to go to Kit's room on the second floor... Oh yeah... from now on, call us Ma and Pa, okay.

- Thank you, Ma..Pa... Ming replied excitedly, then rushed up the stairs to get his Kit.
