Chapter 33

Ming looked dubious as he slowly pushed himself up from kneeling and waited for Kit and his parents to settle themselves on the couch before he could do the same. His eyes were still glued to Kit who wouldn't dare to look at him at all... But that didn't stop Ming from staring at Kit's red puffy face..... His Kit clearly had been crying a lot, judging by his red face and his swollen eyes.

- Staring at him won't make any difference, Ming... He has given his word that he won't disobey us even if we tell him to break up with you... He has made up his mind and he has chose us over you... Kit's father said harshly.

- Pa... Kit grabbed his father's arm to stop him from hurting his boyfriend with those hurtful remarks... Why are you doing this to me?... He cried as he glanced at Ming, then looking back his father... Why must you hurt him?

- Why?... He has to know where you stand.

- I know that, but let me be the one who tell him... Kit argued.

- Okay, go ahead, Kit... Tell him... Kit's father leaned back and waited for Kit to speak up... He wanted to see if Kit was braved enough to break the news to Ming.

- Ming...

- Yes, Kit... Ming replied raspily... He was a little trepidatious because he knew what Kit was going to say to him.

- I love you, Ming... I really do... Kit declared and huffed softly.

- I love you too, Kit... Ming replied to relay that he was feeling the same.

- I know... But... I'm really sorry, Ming... My father is right... As much as I love you... Kit paused and took a deep breath before he continued... I don't think I can disobey my parents... I just can't, Ming.

Ming was lost for words... He felt his heart shattered into pieces because of what Kit had said, but he remained stoic to prevent Kit from feeling guilty for making that decision.

- I know that I will hurt you because of my loyalty towards my parents, but I'm hurting too, Ming... You're the only one for me and I don't think anyone can ever replace you in my heart... Eventhough it was weird to say it out loud in front of his parents, Kit still had to do it. He wanted Ming to understand that he wasn't toying with Ming's heart... I'm really happy when I'm around you, Ming... You make my life worth living for... But I don't deserve that happines if my parents are not happy, Ming.... That's why I have to comply with their demand... They're my parents, my only family, blood related... He said, tearing up whilst looking down at his fidgeting hands.

- Did you hear that, Ming?... I don't think my son loves you enough to even try to protect his love for you... Maybe you should forget about him... He's not worth to be loved by you.

- Pa!... Kit was shocked by his father vicious comments. He couldn't believe that his father would say that to Ming... Am I really not worth to be loved, Pa?... He turned to his mother and asked her as well... Am I, Ma?

Kit's mother was tearing up as she fondly embraced her son.  - You worth to be loved by everyone, Kit... Your father didn't mean what he said.

- It's okay, Kit... I understand.

Kit looked up and stared at Ming's smiling face.

- I'll accept your decision, Kit... So, please stop feeling sorry and please stop crying... I understand your situation... I know that family is important to you... So, it's okay... I feel contented just knowing that you still love me.

- Ming...

- It's okay, Kit... Believe me, I'll be fine... Ming reassured Kit even though deep inside he wanted to tell Kit how broken he was to be pushed away by that dimple doctor.

Kit was devastated... He couldn't take it anymore... 

- Sorry Ma... Pa... I..I... He shook his head as he stood up and fled from there, ascending the stairs towards his room.

- Kit!... Ming yelled for his crying boyfriend... He wanted to chase after him but stopped because of Kit's father.

- Sit down, Ming!.. I'm not done with you.

Ming closed his eyes and slumped back down to his seat, feeling completely defeated... Slowly he hunched forward, facepalmed with his elbows against his knees for support and let his tears streaming down his cheeks to ease out his frustration.

Kit's parents were sitting quietly, watching Ming broke down and gave him a few minutes to calm down, before Kit's father began to speak again.

- Are you done crying?... If you're done, please sit up straight and listen to what I want to say.
