Tick...
Tick...
Tick...

That noise...
That noise!

It was the only noise that seemed to be frustrating y/n, the room was quiet, but not quite enough.

'That damn clock!' She thought.

Her leg bounced while she filled in the bubbles of her test. With the clock still ticking loud at clear, she hesitated at the answer she'd put down, so quickly erased it.

Tick

Flipping her pencil back to the side with led she went to fill in a different bubble.

Tick...

The dull coat of grey began to fill the answer bubble.

Tick...
Tick...

She was almost finished with her satisfied answer when-

Snap!

Her pencil broke.

She sighed, her hand gently placing the #2 wooden pencil on the left side of her paper. Frustration was the only feeling she felt, it took everything in her to not flip her desk and rip the test in half.

She shut her eyes and sucked in as much air as she could. It took only but a mere second for her to calm completely down...but she managed to do it.

She softly tapped her desk neighbor Ned: "Hey do you have an extra pe-

"Miss l/n!" The teacher looked up from her papers.
"If you want to pass your quiz, cheating isn't the way to go about it. Now had you have studied like your classmate Mr. Leeds maybe you wouldn't have to cheat." The woman raised her eyebrows.

"Now this will be your last warning, next time it'll be a zero "  The teacher glared at y/n.

y/n looked around the class just to see her classmates eyeing her. She felt embarrassed especially since cheating was never the objective.

Peter Parker was the first to make eye contact with her, he immediately turned around once he saw her eyes open a window of embarrassment.

"Sorry," She looked at Ned not wanting to explain herself.

The girl picked up her led-less pencil and made her way over to the old rusty pencil sharpener that had been plugged into the wall right underneath the ticking clock.

Flash being Flash: whistled as she walked past and used his hands to outline her body while he and his friends laughed.

Peter who'd been on the other side of the class gripped his pencil at the sight.

He wanted to let it go but he couldn't. He hated the way other people viewed the girl, he couldn't understand it. Before he knew it his pencil was snapped in half.

MJ shifted her gaze to Peter looking up from her test, taking note of how his chest had been moving quickly.

"Hey... cool it, she's okay," MJ whispered to Peter not bothering to look up from her test.

The grinding sound of the electric sharpener caused everyone to jump out of their dazed states.

Y/n tapped her foot waiting for her pencil to sharpen when she saw what look like a dog from the corner of her eye.

She turned her head to look through the small glass window embedded in the door but saw nothing.

"Mhmm." She hummed with a simple shrug of the shoulders.

Turning her head back to the sharpener it suddenly came to a stop. Her eyebrows knitted together in confusion. Y/n removed the pencil and looked at it with an unsatisfied glare. It was nowhere near as sharp as she wanted it to be.

Confused she bent down to see if she'd accidentally pulled the plug when she looked out into the hallway, but to her surprise...she didn't, it was perfectly fine as if it'd never been touched.

"Weird..." she mumbled to herself.

She started to make her way over to the teacher's desk when the lights began to flicker.

She looked at MJ and Peter turned his body to face Ned.

"Don't worry everyone, it might be the circuits again, something like this happens once every year it's nothing to-

The teacher was cut off by the lights shutting off completely. The only light was coming from the window located on the far end of the class.

"Can all teachers and staff report to the main office, please close all windows and lock all doors that may contain students!" The voice spoke through the overhead.

"Ok you guys, I'm gonna need you all to move your desks to the back of the class and form a wall you can sit behind, okay?" Spoke their teacher. "keep working, and stay quiet. This might just be a lockdown drill." She spoke trying to sound as calm as possible.

MJ was the first to get up and move grabbing her friend in the process. The students moved to the back of the class sitting in the small compact space.

"I'll be right back." The teacher spoke before locking the door behind her.

But that was a lie, a lie that they would have to find out within a matter of seconds.
