It was her fault! she didn't mean to do it. I mean, she didn't even know what she did until it was too late.

While walking y/n had kicked through a small pile of shattered glass.

The sound of the Crawlers' constant feasting had come to a stop.

Peter had no choice but to remove his hands from her eyes and use them as a shield.

He wasn't going to let her get hurt.
Not now, not ever.

y/n could fully see the creature up close. This time it wasn't displayed through the small screen of her friend's phone or through a classroom window.

It was there, right in front of her.

It was bigger than she thought it was, it made things like big dogs and bears look like a basket of kittens and puppies.

It was dark and slimy, with legs like a spider, it's outer layer of skin throbbed like an open wound, pulsing like a thick heartbeat.

And it's face?

It's face... was the confusing part. She couldn't make it out. She could only see its teeth, they were sharp and angled. It reminded her of a sharks mouth, yet it looked worse.

The blood of its last victim dripped from its teeth. It craved newer, warmer meat.

She backed away gripping hard on the back of Peter's shirt. The crawler swiftly made its way over to where the noise had been made.

That's when y/n noticed something Peter didn't.

'It's trying to eat the glass.' : she thought.

She let go of Peter's shirt and slowly made her way over to it.

"Y/n!" Peter whisper yelled a little too loud.

The Crawler directed it's attention from the glass and pryed it's head upward.

It took a step closer to (y/n), which was a step too close for Peter's comfort.

It waited for a second, waiting for another sound to confirm it's next meal. A long moment of silence filled the air before it realized nothing was there. So it redirected its focus back to the sheet of shattered glass.

She turned her head not moving from her spot, only to put her index finger up to her lips. Her eyes locked with Peter's using the opportunity to silence him.

He carefully tried to make his way around his own obstacle course of broken glass afraid of what would happen to her.

She crouched down without making a single sound. She leaned closer towards the creature before her.

'can't it see me?!' She questioned moving her head closer.

Peter watched in horror wanting nothing more than to just to take her away.

He hated that he couldn't do anything to save her. He saw how close it was to her. He knew if he tried to lead it to him it'd get to her first.

'GOD! SHE'S SO STUPID! WHY IS SHE SO STUPID?'

He watched her examine the creature wondering why it hadn't attacked.

It didn't take long for her to notice:

'It's blind.'

She waved her hand in front of it's face wondering why it still chose the glass.

She moved her hand to the left side of its head and snapped her fingers, creating a sound louder than expected.

It growled and lunged in the direction of her left hand.

She pulled her hand back to her sides letting the creature attack the nearest locker.

The sight amazed yet scared her.

Before she could do anything else a book flew over her head.

The thud was loud, the room had been so quiet a thud like that would sound as if someone had just fired a gun.

The Crawler ran over to the book giving Peter the opportunity to run over and drag her away.

She watched another Crawler emerge from the darkness to join it's relative in attacking the book.

Peter held her close feeling relieved to see the girl back in one piece.

But y/n wanted to learn more. she thought if she could learn more about the creatures she could figure out how to stop them.

She could figure out how to kill them.
