Why was this so nerve-wracking for him?
He knew he could fight the Crawlers off but he worried.

Peter Parker's always had feelings for y/n, everyone that knew Peter knew it.

It was obvious.

Peter knew more about her than he should've.
The two were never close, hell-They weren't even friends.

But he cared about her, he cared about her a lot.

'Here goes nothing.'

Peter placed his hand upon the rather cold doorknob, stepping out of the room looking both ways before signaling y/n to follow behind him.

She stood behind him gripping the straps of her backpack unsure of what to really do.

The halls of the school were dark and cold, the lights above them flickered rapidly occasionally flickering completely on or off.

The hall floors and lockers were decorated with the blood of what they assumed to be former students and teachers.

Peter was the first to cover his mouth due to the awful smell of death.

Y/n wanted to throw up, her stomach turned in disgust leaving an uncomfortable knot throughout her entire body.

Things only got worse when the sound of eating echoed through the hall. She stopped dead in her tracks not bothering to even think of moving her feet.

She knew it was a Crawler.
What else would it be?

Her heart felt heavy, like it had been slowly sinking to the pits of her stomach. She looked at Peter who was focused deeply on his shaky hands.

She watched him take a deep breath before he covered her eyes with his hands.

She almost questioned him but backed down, knowing that the sound of her voice would get them both killed.

With his hands placed over her eyes, he guided her around the gruesome scene. It made Peter sick to his stomach when he recognized the victim as his former classmate: Betty Brant.

Peter tried his best to look away but the sounds that played throughout the hall made it extremely difficult.

It pained her to think Peter thought he had to shield her from the sight.
But Peter didn't care, he couldn't let her see such a thing. So he continued to guide her through the halls.

They were right at the exit, just a few more steps.

They were almost there!

Crash!

Almost...
