I reach for me, but I'm not there
I always wonder why I'm here
•••
It's fine, it's okay
I'll die anyway.
•••Peter woke up first this time.
Not because it was the next day, but because his spider-senses were going crazy.
The hairs on his arm stood tall his body felt charged in away.
He didn't think twice before smoothly slipping away from the girl who'd been hooked onto his body for comfort.
He walked to the door of the booth, pushing it open without a sound.
'it's quite?'
Peter decided to use his skills for this particular mission. Instinctively he attached his fingers to the walls, effortlessly making his way to the ceiling.
He crawled throughout the entire apartment but found nothing.
'you better not be messing around Peter tingle,'
Peter was smart enough to know that the problem was in fact outside, but deep down, he didn't want to go.
Something told him to stay, to leave it alone. He had just been with the one girl he ever wanted to be with, in the imperfect world he'd been trapped in he was now leaving the one and only person who made him happy.
But something else told him he had to do everything in his power to protect y/n, having her meant nothing if he couldn't protect her.
In this given moment he truly felt like spider-man, now more than ever.
-
An extremely loud inhumane screech was more than enough to wake y/n up.
"Peter?"
She said the first thing that came to her mind.
She tried hugging against his body but couldn't feel him anymore.
An unexplainable panic rushed through her.
She rose to her feet running her fingers through her hair.
'He left me?'
Her heart was scorched by the flame that ignited within her chest. Her hands began to shake, everything suddenly felt heavy.
'did I do something?'
'did I say something?'
'was he tired of looking after me, was he tired of me looking after him?"
'is he hurt?'Those were only half of the questions her mind managed to compose, deep within the pits of her heart, she'd felt like she was the reason behind his disappearance.
Despite her dysfunctional body, she managed to make her way out of the room. Her feet seemed to move on their own, her brain still trying to comprehend what was going on.
Her feet met with the wooden flooring, it's seemed colder than usual as if she were walking on pure ice. Soon her entire body became cold. Her hands had lost its usual color, her lips were numb.
'Peter, ' she reminded herself.
Again she struggled with gathering her thoughts.
Her feet walked along the frosted ground, the feeling of walking on something as sharp as needles shooting through her body from her bare feet.
'why is it so cold?'
Her thoughts seemed faint, not loud like they used to be. Her body felt like it'd been slowing itself down. Every little movement was accompanied by an agonizing discomfort, yet her persistence kept her going.
She was now in the dark hall of her apartment complex, right next to the stairwell. The girl suffered with every step she managed to take, she swore she could see the warm air leave her mouth and enter the cold air.
Again she remained herself-
She interrupted herself when she saw the boy limping his way down the hall.
She blinked, hoping her mind had just been playing tricks on her.
Peter was further than she thought but she was more concerned about his limp.
She ran towards him but soon stopped dead in her tracks.
'That's not Peter.'
