lexi was driving, finn was in the passenger seat, and madeline, noah, and sophie were in the back. finn had a bag of cheetos and madeline and noah were sharing some watermelon sour patch kids.

"did you guys see becca's comment under my post? i was laughing so hard." madeline said.

"what'd she say?" finn asked.

"stop stealing my friends, slut." madeline quoted.

sophie, lexi, and finn started laughing knowing it was such a stupid comment but noah got defensive.

"she's ridiculous. you're not a slut." noah scoffed.

"i know noah," madeline giggled, "thank you though."

"can i tell you guys something?" lexi switched to a more serious tone.

"of course, lex." finn responded.

"sophie and madeline already know but i really like chosen. you four are my closest friends and i wanted to make sure all of you knew." lexi let out a deep breath.

"aw lexi! that's sweet." noah said and finn nodded.

"what are you even doing sitting in this car with us? you should be making out with your man in the backseat of his car!" finn ate a cheeto and passed the bag to sophie.

"this is why i don't tell you guys things!" lexi laughed.

"sorry lex, but i have some protection in the trunk if you need it. i'm saving it for sophie." finn winked.

"in your dreams!" sophie exclaimed and threw the bag of cheetos at finn.

it was about 6 o' clock and they had arrived at an applebee's. they had been nonstop driving all day and the day before that and they were finally in ohio.

they ordered a table for the five of them along with chosen, megan, jaeden, sadie, caleb, and rebecca, since the whole group decided to stop there.

madeline walked over to megan as rebecca approached them.

"hey megan. go away bitch, you're trying to steal my friend." rebecca glared.

"i'm not causing a scene with you in the middle of applebee's. grow up." madeline sighed.

"no i just think you're too scared to say anything." rebecca smirked.

"caleb control your girlfriend for once." madeline groaned.

"if you're gonna bring caleb into this maybe i should bring noah into this. my ex boyfriend that you just had to steal, whore." rebecca exclaimed.

"hey guys, quiet down a little bit." megan whispered.

"you cheated on him rebecca! when will you realize that?" madeline said.

"whatever. this isn't over," rebecca moved over to madeline, "i would watch out mads."

"this isn't a movie rebecca." madeline brushed past rebecca and left the applebee's.

noah quickly followed her outside and saw her sitting on a bench. he sat beside her and put his arm around her.

"mads, are you alright?" noah said softly.

"yep." madeline's voice cracked.

"you're not okay mads. you can cry. it's alright, love." noah pulled her closer.

"you know, you're not what she said you are. you're not a bitch, a slut, or a whore. she's insecure and is taking it out on you." noah comforted her.

"i wish i could believe you. i know i shouldn't care about her but it's so hard not to when i feel like everyone's on her side." madeline explained.

"trust me mads, she's only here because of caleb. i don't know why caleb is so immune to her tricks and the awful things she is doing. you are one of the best people i know madeline."

"thank you noah. i'm so grateful for you." madeline gave noah a tight hug.

"of course."

"do i look okay?" madeline giggled and wiped off any smears of her crying.

"you always look beautiful." noah smiled.
