it was now about 9:30 pm and they had made it into texas. they had stopped for mcdonald's about an hour ago for dinner. madeline pulled into a parking space since she had been driving for the last few hours. rebecca and caleb were getting some of their belongings they would need for the night out of the car.

megan, jaeden, sadie, and chosen were about twenty minutes away from the hotel and rebecca and caleb had gotten to the hotel about ten minutes ago. sophie and finn went to the front desk to check in while madeline, noah, and lexi sat in the lobby with their belongings.

noah put his arm around madeline as she took a sip out of her slurpee from mcdonald's. madeline laid her head on noah's shoulder. rebecca walked by the two and rolled her eyes.

"here you go." finn threw the hotel key to noah.

they all walked up to the third floor where all of their rooms were. sometime while they were putting their things for the night away, megan, chosen, sadie, and jaeden had arrived.

"hey i'm gonna go over to lexi and sophie's room. i think i'll be gone for a lot of the night so you don't have to wait up." madeline explained.

"oh okay." noah said, trying to hide his disappointment.

"are you good?" madeline asked.

"yeah yeah i'm good! i'm good." noah reassured.

madeline sat next to him on the bed, "tomorrow we can sit in the hotel room and watch disney movies all night. you know, if you want to."

"i'd like that." noah smiled

"good. i'll see you later." madeline gave noah a quick kiss on the cheek.

"yeah i'll see you later." noah stuttered.

madeline walked out of the room before she could even think twice about what she just did. she squealed a little bit outside before getting herself together. even though it was just a kiss on the cheek, madeline was proud of herself for even making a move at all. noah was left smiling uncontrollably.

sophie was setting things up in the bathroom while lexi was sitting on one of the beds when madeline walked in. they all greeted each other even though it had only been about twenty minutes since they last saw each other.

"where's megan?" madeline asked.

"well, everyone else was planning on going to finn, jaeden, and chosen's room but jaeden asked megan if she wanted to hang out alone in her room tonight!" lexi clarified.

"oh my god, really?" madeline exclaimed and lexi nodded.

"i think jaeden asked finn and chosen to stage a hangout for tonight so he could do that, to be honest." sophie grabbed a few bowls.

"definitely something they'd do. they're sneaky." lexi laughed.

"did you tell noah you're dying your hair?" sophie asked madeline.

"no, why would i?" madeline responded.

"well wouldn't your boyfriend like to know?"

"not my boyfriend!" madeline sighed.

"you seemed disappointed to say that." lexi giggled.

"no i'm not! whatever. did you tell finn, sophie?" madeline changed the topic.

"no, but he should expect it at this point." sophie chuckled.

lexi and madeline pulled two chairs next to the bathroom. madeline and sophie both changed into clothes they were okay with ruining. sophie was done getting everything ready and gestured for madeline to sit down.

"woah what are you doing?" madeline giggled, confused.

sophie applied some lip balm against the edges of madeline's hairline, "what? this is so the dye doesn't stain your skin. this is second best since we don't have any petroleum jelly."

"sophie's a natural at this." lexi sat back in her seat as madeline chuckled and nodded.

after sophie did a patch and strand test to make sure madeline wasn't allergic to anything in the products, she started to section her hair and brush out all of the knots. sophie dipped her dye brush into the bowl and started with the front sections.

"wait i'm so scared." madeline laughed as they watched sophie color the front sections.

"you have nothing to worry about." sophie concentrated on madeline's hair.

lexi was recording some of it to put on her snapchat story while madeline took occasional selfies to laugh at. sophie was soon done with madeline's hair and they had to set a timer for when madeline could wash her hair and she put a shower cap on to prevent any spills.

"i think you should let lexi and i handle your hair, soph." madeline suggested.

"are you crazy? yeah, no!" sophie laughed.

"come on! we're not stupid. you trust us right?" lexi asked.

"yeah but not with my hair." sophie chuckled.

"it can't be that hard. trust us, we got you." madeline said.

sophie stopped mixing the dye, "fine! i guess, but you better be careful. if either of you mess up my hair, i'll kill you."

"can't do something we want anyways." lexi giggled.

"that episode was my favorite." sophie exclaimed.

madeline handed sophie a shower cap. they just finished sophie's hair and we're rewatching netflix's, "the society", for the third time. lexi hit play for the next episode.

five minutes in to the next episode, the timer for madeline's hair went off. madeline went and turned on the water in the shower and took off her cap. lexi and sophie followed her into the doorway of the bathroom.

"i'm so glad i didn't like these clothes. they're gonna be soaked and covered with dye." madeline stepped into the shower.

madeline washed her hair off and got changed a little while after. she had to let her hair dry naturally. the girls watched another episode and the timer for sophie's hair went off.

"i guess we'll find out if you guys did a good job when this is dry." sophie stepped out of the shower after washing her hair.

"trust me, we did good." lexi flipped her hair, jokingly.

"oh my god, shut up! your hair looks so good mads." sophie exclaimed.

"it's not even dry yet, i haven't looked at it." madeline explained.

"it's not fully dry, but almost. girl go look in the mirror!" lexi squealed.

madeline walked to the mirror and admired her hair that was now jet black. she smiled to herself.

"i love it so much," madeline jumped up and down, "thank you sophie. you're the best."

"you are so very welcome." sophie giggled.
