it was 5pm and they checked in to the hotel earlier than normal. everyone decided since chosen and lexi were having their date, the group of teens could have a movie night or order food and hang out in someone's hotel room.

they were almost half way to california. they had driven through kentucky and tennessee and were now in mississippi. there were about 30 hours left to get to california, which may seem like a lot, but once they start driving longer at a time they'll be there in no time.

once they checked in, megan and madeline  quickly put their stuff in their rooms and made their way over to lexi and sophie's room. lexi was hanging up the dress that she was wearing for tonight and sophie was helping her decide on a pair of shoes.

"how about these? oh hey!" sophie noticed megan and madeline walking in the room.

"those are cute, and you can never go wrong with some white or black sandals." madeline suggested.

"yeah i'll wear the black sandals. i don't know why i'm so nervous." lexi noticed.

"you'll be fine, lex. he really likes you, ya know?" megan smiled

lexi grinned and sat down at one of the chairs in the room, ready for megan to do her makeup. megan promised she was only going to do a more natural look because she didn't want lexi to feel like she needed a bunch of makeup to feel pretty. lexi was already beautiful without it.

megan decided she was only going to use concealer to cover up a few blemishes. she was just going to use a neutral eyeshadow shade before putting on mascara. megan decided to finish with some highlighter and a little bit of blush.

"thanks megs!" lexi looked in the mirror.

"of course."

lexi got changed into the dress they decided in. she put a cute head piece on and strapped her sandals.

"you look so good!" madeline exclaimed.

"for real! looking like a goddess." sophie giggled

"you look stunning, lex." megan agreed

"thank you guys so much for everything." lexi said.

lexi's phone lit up. chosen had texted her that he'd be over in about five minutes. the girls gave her a quick little pep talk like they do in all of the rom-coms they would spend hours watching. before they knew it, there was a knock on the door.

"have fun! not too much fun though." megan giggled.

"we love you!" madeline said.

"and then there were three." sophie chuckled as lexi walked out the door.

"are we all hanging out in your hotel room?" madeline asked.

"finn invited everyone over to jaedens in like fifteen minutes." sophie explained and the girls nodded.

"so, where to?" lexi smiled softly.

"i was thinking olive garden. i know it's one of your favorites and i saw one just a few places down from the hotel." chosen explained.

"you know me too well."

chosen intertwined their hands together. they walked along the sidewalk and enjoyed each other's presence. they were outside of olive garden in about five minutes since it was so close.

the hostess brought them to a table and they ordered their drinks a few minutes later. they looked at the menu and made some small talk.

"so, are you excited for senior year?" chosen asked.

"very. i'm kind of scared though. it's our last year in high school and i barely even know what i want to do when i'm older." lexi wondered.

"but at the same time, i love adventures and trying new things so i feel like college would be a good experience for me wherever i go and whatever i end up doing." lexi continued.

"i feel you. i love the positive outlook you have on situations." chosen complimented.

"thanks," lexi giggled, "i try my best."

"i toured a few schools last month and i'm still not sure yet. i was looking at some colleges in chicago, some in new york, i'm really all over the place." chosen explained.

"well, new york isn't that far. but chicago! that's pretty far." lexi nervously laughed at the thought of chosen leaving her.

"we're driving all the way from pennsylvania to california! i'm sure i'll find a way to get back to you." chosen grinned.

"well when you put it that way, we probably are a little crazy for doing this." lexi chuckled.

"just a little." chosen laughed with her.

the waitress came back with their drinks and they ordered their food. she noticed that the two were on a date and gave lexi a little wink.

"you look beautiful, by the way. i just had to tell you." chosen chuckled.

"thank you. you look pretty good too." lexi giggled.

they soon finished their food and chosen paid for it. no matter how many times lexi said she could pay for herself, he insisted on paying the full bill.

they decided to take a longer way back to the hotel so they could spend more time together. they walked along the sidewalk holding hands.

"i hope you enjoyed tonight. i haven't been on a date in a long time and i wanted to make sure i did it right." chosen clarified

"i had a fantastic time. why haven't you been on a date in a long time? i know a lot of girls like you." lexi pondered.

"well, girls are always so confusing, one minute they love you and then they don't even talk to you." chosen explained.

"yeah. it's definitely the same with some guys too. i would never leave you without explanation, you know that right? i'll always be here for you." lexi looked into chosen eyes.

"thank you, lex. i love being around you and i love the person i am when i'm with you."
chosen stopped in his tracks and met lexi's eyes.

"i guess you don't mind me doing this then." lexi smirked and leaned in.

her lips pressed against chosen's. lexi moved her hand to chosen's cheek as chosen's hand wrapped around lexi's waist. their kiss was sweet and lasted about six or so seconds.

lexi pulled away and chosen was in shock.

"yeah maybe we could do that again sometime." chosen exhaled.
