A long thought process put me where I was right now. It was a beautiful May Sunday and tomorrow I was going to have school which I serverly dreaded. I had made it an entire week without luke but now it's just getting harder.
Darlene was great at tennis for some odd reason. Growing up her and my mother would play. For Sunday dinner Darlene husband would come over and they'd do couple teams.
My mom was amazing, she hit it so gracefully she should of went pro but my mom knew she couldn't be married to my dad if she were to of. The man is the bread winner.
"I'm not good" I wine. We were only at it for about two minutes. I just got and didn't want to do anything. Plus I can't hit the damn ball.
"Darling it's not that hard. Keep your eye on the ball" she tells me as she serves again for the fifth time. I notice it go up and as my eyes go up I notice the doors open up seeing my father walk out. If my dads home that means luke is. Where's luke?
The ball pegs me right In the head. I know the balls soft but that swing was hard. "Oh Lucy" Darlene cries running over to me. My cry sent my father running my way to.
"Oh baby girl are you alright?" My father asks. He feels my head noticing the welt that's about to apear any minute.
"Delores please run and get some ice" she sprints fast and I look up at my dad. "Where's luke?" I question and he chuckles.
"That's what you're wondering? Sweetheart you should be wondering if this will swell tomorrow" he laughs and I raise my eye brow as if saying, that doesn't answer my question.
"Luke needed to stay a couple more days for me" I nod my head. Usually my dad will never leave an employee to finish his duties.
"When will we see him again?" I ask and he sighs "I have no idea sweatheart probably not until we have another meeting" and with that our maid hands me the ice pack and they both help me to my feet.
